it went to the bottom of the intake and only blew smoke on WOT a few times. right now there is no sign of smoke at WOT.- ttforcefed

i took it in for oil change which they did. Drove home a few miles and for whatever reason i decided to check the oil on the dash. i was getting 2 different readings using the hood open and hitting the cancel button vs the regular way. it said add a qrt so i did. my gut told me to bring it back...- ttforcefed

my tech was convinced they just forgot to put the new oil in at the last service. luckily i didn't drive the car much. then they did another oil change, and a few days later there was oil missing again and the dash oil monitor had no clue.- ttforcefed

just realized i never updated this thread. the vacuum pump was replaced and no more smoke so far, compression and leak down tests both came back with no issues. my tech thinks the broken vacuum pump was preventing the oil level monitor to read correctly, ie it never showed that the oil was very...- ttforcefed

maintenance history since new 2013
unless you can do your own work you are pretty much screwed if you live in a dense metro area, if you look at my entire history 95% of the work was done at local independent shops who are trustworthy,- ttforcefed

Only 5 quarts of oil drained second oil change in a row (also… drain plug?)
good news so far - they replaced vacuum pump with seal, crankcase breather diaphragms, cleaned intake and throttle body, new plugs, cleaned all brake booster lines, fuel system cleaner and no signs of smoke anymore after driving 200 miles. will monitor for oil consumption over the next couple...- ttforcefed

maintenance history since new 2013
everything is documented so whatever the log says. the plugs were done at 86k miles. i have brake fluid done whenever they do brakes. Not sure about the power steering fluid- ttforcefed

compression and leak down tests came back fine. they think its the valve seals are causing the smoke but I'm just gonna drive it and add oil if i need to. if i have to ill replace the engine with one from roverlandparts for $13k, doesn't make sense to deal with the risk of rebuilding mine.- ttforcefed
