    Step 1 should be verification of state of engine by someone who knows these vehicles. Then decide. Might be leaky coolant fitting and torn pcv. ( Much cheaper and easier fix)

    Compos were the first alloy ( mud tech too I guess) to be at least 1550kg wheels, 18" AND clear the 5.0 lr4 front brakes. Brake clearance was the biggest factor for its popularity.

    The bad one I got was not regulating correctly. You could visually see the regulator was 1/2 the denso size. Had to peer into the plastic just to see it. Talk to your mechanic, work should be warrantied if only a few months. Ask if you can supply the alternator and get a denso one.

    Mine showed the correct voltage range most of the time. But would strobe headlights and even spike to 15+v. Is your passenger( is right side) valve cover leaking onto the alternator?

    Where'd this alternator come from. I had a new chinesium napa one that was broken right out the box. Sounds similar to yours. Only use the denso ones.

    Have to turn tpms off for all wheels. Truck sees "Spare" as " the fifth wheel. Normally it monitors all four road going wheels and the spare. Now it only sees three road wheels. Or ignore it... I have tpms turned off for all wheels and no errors, or tpms sensors to worry about replacing.

    I had intermittent " no volume" randomly over about 10 months. Then one day, following a no volume system went dark. The system blinks if it's looking for "complete circuit". I think it blinks and if sees a break it will stop blinking and " give up" sending a signal. Once it sees no breaks it...

    Narrow tires ( pizza cutters) work wonders for rubbing. Also pay attention to offset. Too close in and it will rub on control arm, too far out and you'll lose a fender flare, and it stresses bearings even more. Front bearings don't need any help...the 275 on your example is more of an issue than...

    Tuffant USA is phasing steelies out. If you are going to do it, you should pull the trigger. Defender "steelies" also are a direct fit. Some say their dealer was overstocked with takeoffs and sold them cheap.

    So....update. Front driveshaft started clacking. Must have gotten junk in there. I packed as much grease in and buttoned up in situ. But that must not have been enough. What an annoyance that was to replace. Did rear too because...why not. ($105 in just bolts...)

    Mine don't rub. Here's the best I could do for pics. My straps have a permanent "shape" to them now, if I recall there was a twist to add some tension and make them shape that way
