I hate rust belt.....rear upper arms were a PITA

I too enjoy 4 seasons. Looks to me that these are the original 2010 arms. At least when these get done again everything has been slathered in antisieze. Still baselining everything from april purchase. Went with AB arms

    Colder plugs...worse mileage?

OMW... looks like LYSDEXIA strikes again. 6 came out, I put 7's in. I'll fix the original post. But they looked good. Viewed as they would be in relation to driver seat (lhd.) lower left is closest to driver.

    Colder plugs...worse mileage?

Got around to doing plugs on the new to me lr4. It looks like new spec is one colder. At 137k Likely the ngks in there were original as they were "6's", now they spec "7's". I have run a tank through it and it looks like mpg dropped. Anyone else seen this?

    Open to Suggestions

OOF, so you bought a new to you truck, changed oil twice and it munched #3? Sorry to hear. what oil were you using? or do you think it was already an issue prior to you buying? What to do is a personal decision. Wholesale its a $5-7K truck (working) and prices look to be falling. I'd base my...

Loosen and retorque suspension bolts when lifting?

It will be for function. Past the point of "looking cool". Want to fit decent sidewall. PO put 20" with Toyo's, trying to decide on 18's I like. Want to start with lift/18's/nerfbars and go from there based on troubles I encounter.

Loosen and retorque suspension bolts when lifting?

agreed, for the most part. Alignment wont address all of the suspension parts though. Carrier/knuckle bushings and non eccentric bolts specifically.

Loosen and retorque suspension bolts when lifting?

Looking threads of those with lifted trucks, I don't see any mention of loosening and retightening the suspension bolts to help preserve the bushings. (or haven't looked enough) Is it just such a no brainer that no one mentions it? Or do people slap on lift rods and then not make the connection...

LR4 V8 smog help - catalytic monitor won't get to ready state

No, but FSM instructions said to disconnect negative terminal prior to removing all the plastic, and moving the transfer case computer.

    Threshold scratches....the ocd in me

Yep, the plates only cover the main wear areas, and the rear are really small. Started with the vice, then tweaked with the pliers. Door seems to seal just fine, no discernable downsides. 3M double sided is sticking strong after a good isopropyl wipe down on the truck.

    Threshold scratches....the ocd in me

In due time. I just retired my 95 mercedes from daily duty, I always try to head off damage before it's an issue. You can bet when I get my bush pinstripes I'll wear them with pride.

    Marketplace/Craigslist finds?

Pardon if there already is a Marketplace/Craigslist/Kijii thread for us to share good deals with each other. Saw this, but 3.75hrs one way is too far. Seller says tires are 2018. So likely just buying the wheels. (Mud Tech 18's with Ko2's) Seller took them off his LR4 He's near Syracuse NY...

Buying this 2015 LR4 Lux Pkg w/ HD Pkg, but am freaking out about the RUST! Should I walk?

Pfftt... that is all minor surface rust on thick structural pieces. KTM is correct. don't worry the timing belt :p or the "dozens" of electrical issues. That vehicles rust is nothing special for anything from the northeast, or anywhere else in the rustbelt. Agreed, do use it to negotiate!

Front driveshaft bolts went missing!! And an introduction

All fixed....lucky i had my 8 year old to hold the brake and release as I rotated driveshaft. Make use of assistants that will be paid in sour patch kids while I can! Also want to thank the JLR engineers, that heavy "parts grabber plate" on the bottom of the truck did its job, found these on...
