perfect match for the hids.
i had the 3000k and the 6000k as the fogs. the 3000k ddms are a bit orangey, so during the winter i apply a 3M yellow film to get the real yellow effect. for weather without snow i put in the 6000k without the film so the combined output with the low beams are all white.
the ballast and ignitor are pretty bullet proof. besides, where it's going there isnt much room to bounce around. also heat is definitely something to look out for.
bush, that is basically it. it'll be easier with the headlights out so you can see where the ballast and ignitor goes. i think with the fog lights out you'll be able to see for yourself as there's only one place you can put it, which is further into the bumper instead of around the housing...
put it behind the fog light housing, into the bumper. you dont need to stick it anywhere, it's got no where to go. much simpler install than the headlights.

here are my pix of the hids and leds. just scroll through them. ddm 6000k low beam, 3000k fogs. the fogs are more orangey than yellow, so i applied a 3M yellow film over 6000k and 3000k fog housing, results are great (not...
stock fuse for the headlights is 5w. after changing it to 10w it still didnt fire up the ballasts during cold weather. i didnt want to bump it up any higher as that might prove to be too much for the stock harness. installing the relay kit seems to have fixed the problem. per research, hid...
the kit comes with a relay cable. I've just installed it, pretty easy job. waiting for a cold day to test out the theory. will report back with findings.
the right side isnt firing up when the temp is below 40. i'd have to let the car warm up a bit after a drive, and then switch on the light to fire up the ballast. if i left it on auto mode and it tries to fire during a cold start up, i'd have to restart the car after it's warm in order to fire...
thinking of installing the cable but unsure how i can attach it to the battery. I dont recall there being a mount for the cable. Also, where would i attach the ground?
if you change the pads only you'll have to bed the pads. it's a PITA process. that's why it's easier to change both to avoid squeaks.
fwiw, i've had the hawk performance pads on my BBK for my supercharged passat and loved them. they gripped really well but if you dont bed them properly...
It all depends on the dealership when your car has serious problems that they might think are too expensive to cover. They can nitpick at stuff like this. I know it sounds ludicrous but it's true.
also, there are bulbs out there that can do damage to your housing and electronic components...
