Great to know Jimmy - my battery is new a few months ago so keep that in mind. I checked my scanner again today and I'm still code free (not counting my chickens though!). I was getting this code (like you a fuel pump issue):

Which went away with the aforementioned battery change... Keep me posted, misery loves company!

Yup! That’s the same code. Weird, I’m very sure it’s voltage related and we probably have the same issue. I’ll be around the car more in the summer to tinker and play with a few things. I’ll keep you posted if I find anything but I suspect it’s ground related (I’ve replaced the alternator so I’m ruling it out… for now)

On a side note I need to replace the fan clutch (clicks a ton in the cold) but I don’t think that’ll fix the code. Again, I think it’s voltage related.

Hi @Jimmy Brooks - Please keep me posted as you tinker over the summer and I'll do the same. Having replaced the viscous fan and the battery but not the alternator I'm in a slightly different position from you. FWIW's I purchased the Mahle viscous fan from Rock Auto, it was $323 but now appears to have gone up to $349. I think this is OE as they had Land Rover scratched out on the plastic portion of the fan, everything else looked identical.

I will keep an eye on the voltage as well.

Bear in mind that I did reseat some grounding points just behind the front passenger side headlight.

Are your code always present or intermittent?

Here's the viscous fan at Rock Auto:

So Ive been working on an 09 L322 4.4 JLR and have two issues at least;
1) Fuel temperature sensor code; went to inspect and found broken gray (ground?) wire and patched temporarily; started but will not start warm smeels like fuel;
2) Kid I bought it from said he had a coolant temperature sensor code and he wen to oreillys and then replaced it and he did btw; when I called Oreilliys however they said there are two different types available; so Im going down to test both for ohms and then I;d like to track down the expected ohms for the collant tmeprature circuit and test it at say the ECM or through the harness;
It runs perfect AFTER starting but smells like fuel at least on one side; so I was going to replace the FTS on the rail fix that wiring, and see if I can get that ohm reading from someone who can find it int he rave manual;
Anyone run into this issue; ? Once run there is one other issue; fan is coming on fulkl force at speeds and temps that dont make sense; so I suppose start with replacing that coolant sensor but its in such a crappy place Id like to test it for ohms first. THanks for listening.

Dont suspect leaky injectors although we have 161k on odometer simply because drivability is so good once warm; although to be fair there is a bit of surge at times when the throttle response does not seem to match the input; so I suppose. few injectors leaking m,ight make sense but cant be the initial or unlikely to be initial startiung issue.
