    New Offroad Jeeps

And...yet Jeep, still has the anemic 3.7L V6 in that thing. The 4-door is 4500lbs and only had 202hp / 236lbft of torque. It really needs a good diesel.

The monitors are simply monitors with IR output for sound (Headphones). The are OE for the FL2. But...do not take much to adapt them for the LR3. Here is the thread from the Disco3 forum. PM the OP and he will get back to you. He can get two colors: Black and Alpaca...

Yep...although a bit too late. I had already got him working on it when you set that up. I am happy though. Good piece.

An almost exact duplicate, save the cooling port shape. Thickness is 6mm. I based my final decision to buy on the countless gents in the disco3 forum that have this plate and swear by it. The price was right and it will look / function great on the Rover. For those interested, contact Ray...

Each to their own. Sorry...I'm not feeling it. Well executed though... I like the idea of aux lights, just not sure how I want to mount them.

    Skid Plate-Slider question . . .

Short answer - no. Even if the thickness is 8mm vs 6mm the "better" part if minor. These plate are fabricated with a CNC metal cutter of some kind combined with a CNC plate bending machine. Once the pattern is setup, knocking these out is ridiculously easy. All that is left is to clean up...

    Skid Plate-Slider question . . .

My apologies. All this time, I thought you were a fellow industrial designer. My bad... Steel is a lot cheaper to work with and easier to get. Aluminum alloys have a tendency to my more cost prohibitive as most performance parts require lighter materials. In this case, demand constitutes...

Custom rear spare/jerry can carrier concept

Nothing wrong with that at all. AutoCAD is a great bit of software. THE choice by most out there. I have another version coming shortly.

Custom rear spare/jerry can carrier concept

Thanks. The concept modeling work is done in FormZ. Next step is to convert it to Catia if needed. after revisiting this, I think the shorter arm makes more sense. You are dead on about the weight. Put a jerry can there full of fluid...it all adds up.

Custom rear spare/jerry can carrier concept

Nicely done. I was considering the pin for locking it open as well. I am considering a shorter version similar to the length of the Rasta version to save weight and length when open.

    Skid Plate-Slider question . . .

Meh, who knows. I just might. But I also know how much of a PITA it is to put something into production. C'mon Nathan, with what you do for work and what I do for work, we both know that steel is not that expensive. Aluminum alloys? That's a whole different story. Regarding shipping...

    Skid Plate-Slider question . . .

Nathan - No disrespect intended. As I mentioned, I understand the implications of the FJ being an entirely different vehicle. All laser cuts are, are CNC machining. Easy peasy. I respect the fact someone actually thought through what was needed. However, once design & R&D is complete...

    Skid Plate-Slider question . . .

My point exactly. RS sliders are better built. Quality fab, IMO. Those plates look mean. OE's protect the sills with less material for the same price. Go fig. Maybe it's the cool logo that makes up the difference. Side note - I am an Industrial Designer by trade. I know what it costs...
