How Much Do You Pay For Insurance?

f1- Sorry for the delay. I'm also with State Farm. Your premium seems really high, so I wanted to be sure I have this right. Differences: -2016 'Landmark' HD. Newer should be more? -I'm in CA- State laws, rules and reg's make a diff ? -I'm carrying generally higher coverages..deductibles are the...

LR4 squealing brake pads with a recent change from the dealer...

I think what you are seeing is just 'rust dust' coming off of the rotors, mixed with brake dust. Fairly common and doesn't take long to form in wet, or simply humid, weather. And the truck doesn't have to sit still for very long for it to form. Yes, the fronts are worse..mine anyway. Try zinc...

LR4 squealing brake pads with a recent change from the dealer...

FWIW- Some context: I did the first brake job on my 2016 at 15k miles about a year ago. My miles are mainly stop and go (and that includes on the dang freeway). I scratched my head and read brake threads deciding about doing ceramics or sticking with OE pads. I finally decided to go with the...

    FS: GAP IID Tool BT

Highly suggest that you cancel that and go for the GAP tool. It pays for itself if all you ever do with it is program a new (additional) key FOB..or two. The Gap is $528 through Lucky 8 right now. The usually go on sale for back Friday, but never that low $'s

    becoming collectible

You are all correct, but just for future reference (and collectable considerations) here are some pic's of the transmission/terrain response controls in my 2016 with the HD package, and the window sticker showing what that option package included and the cost. It was $1,350, but is now worth...

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

@thevinrod- Thanks for the update! I'll keep that fuel pump alternative in mind. My truck is still under 20K miles so fingers crossed the FP is still good. Going to schedule the repair and I'll report on how that goes.

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Any update on "Part2"? I haven't taken my 2016 in for the recall repair as yet. With all the service horror stories (potentially more problems created than solved)..I'm still vacillating. I think the in-tank fuel pump should automatically be checked out given what the recall repair work involves.

Depreciation Value for LR4 after accident

Thanks for the lead. I just submitted my info to them, so we'll see. Sorry about the wreck. $ 6K sounds low for your repairs. The OE parts alone for the door, fender and components on mine are $4K+, didn't even get into the mirror and trim parts. His Ins Co's initial estimate spec'd 'salvaged'...

Depreciation Value for LR4 after accident

Thanks for your post! I am in a very similar situation and I intend to file a claim for diminished value. I think it's tough, but I have the time and I'm going after it. My 15,445 mi 2016 'Landmark' w HD Pack was parked on the street in front of my home a couple of months ago and a 'maroon' (you...

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Yep, that's SOP. Hmm..might it be that scheduling an 'oil service' could help cut the line on one's recall repair?

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Now THAT makes a whole lotta sense with potentially 110k+ vehicles to fix (which means they won't do it). Besides the dealers are probably rubbing their hands together in anticipation $$.

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

I think the culprit 'flange' and the fuel filter are all one piece/part (Fuel Tank Dust Cover Filter) so a new filter should be covered. Depending on your mileage maybe do the fuel pump as well...at least have them test the pressure...that's what I will be asking them to do. The old part...

    2013 LR4

Welcome! I believe the one you want is the basic GAP IID Tool 'Bluetooth' which is for use on one vehicle at a time (VIN locked). It can be moved to a new vehicle at anytime (small fee to GAP) and I vaguely recall that one can have additional vehicles added by paying a license fee for each. I...

    Parts Availability Issues

As well you should be...on both counts. The parts dept at LR Palm Beach makes your local one look a greedy $$ and pathetic, and the collision center lazy. At about $2.6K each for those headlights, an ARB Summit front bumper/bar starts to look like cheap insurance for off-road.

    Parts Availability Issues

I think this is your part. Says it 'ships fast' for 50 bucks. But wow!..for your sake I hope that insurance or some else is writing the check...

    The Great Engine Oil Debate

FWIW, Because of the 20K interval (who does that anyway?), I'm betting that this- 'Castrol Edge Extended Performance' is the same as the JLR designer oil, and can be had at half the price, and is also available in both 0W-20 and 5W-20...

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Also....still no guarantee it won't fail in 5 to 10. (think cooling system). I'd laugh, but it's not funny.

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

New improved part. A band-aid fix would expose them to too much liability, and that partially explains the delay. According to the recall numbers they may need to fix upwards of 110K vehicles. As slow as they've been to respond to this, (years) they could have easily had a Ford 'Pinto'...

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

Exactly. IMHO, those that had the repair done already should probably have theirs checked (perhaps replaced w the new part). AND get reimbursement for the repair with what could've been (likely) a faulty OE part.

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

    That's the culprit...(the pics).

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

It's not the fuel filler neck that is the subject of THIS recall anyway. It's the flange that sits on top of the tank and is a part of the fuel filter assembly, and it's where the fuel line from the pump and the line out to the engine attach on the other side. It's flawed and develops cracks...

New Recall Alert : Fuel System

And rule out all of the dangerous possibilities other than the gas tank flange recall (which is bad enough), asap.

    2010-2011 LR4 Fuel leak investigation - FYI

This is an old thread. Search and view the more recent threads on this issue. There's a massive official recall of LR4's and RRS's due to the leaking flange. Most of us are receiving notification letters, got mine two days ago (there's a copy of one already posted on here). Almost certain your...

    LR4 Recall...

Here's JLR-NA's official notice to US dealers: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2021/RCMN-21V635-0337.pdf Looks like US market, for now anyway. Seems like vehicles in other markets would also be affected. I'm not familiar with what that process involves.
