I had a couple of issues, that maybe you should look for;
1) Open the sunroof and take a look at the arms that push the sunroof back. Mine have several cracks in the arms and this is my second one.
2) A/C farts. That's what it sounded like. When I would turn on the A/C it would make...

Your rover looks brand new. Good job cleaning it up.
I paid for mine over the internet, no inspection. The next day I received an email saying my lr3 was covered at all Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealer in the US. A week later I receive the contract in the mail, good at any lincensed repair facility.
Update
I was looking at the LR3 over the weekend and I noticed two spots where the tires rubbed. One was Left Front tire rubbed some wires that run across the wheel well. Second was Right Rear rubbing at the 3 o'clock position. Both spots, the rubbing was very mild.
Could the type of tires make a bigger difference? For instance, the stock Good Years versus Cooper Zeons. I was able to drive through deep sand up an incline without airing down the tires on Zeon Ltz.
We only did one water crossing and turned back before the rocks. The trails was 98% dirt road, 1% water crossing and 1% sand. Driving in the creek was the best part of the trip. Overall, not very challenging, but it was meant for new owners.
