Replacement of Air Strut Assembly: 06 LR3 HSE

I'm going to go with these when I need to replace them: https://www.suncoreindustries.com/product/17421/rear-air-shock-spring-oem-rebuilt-lr041110-lr3-lr4-range-rover-sport

    Brake Pads

Oh those Max brakes are cheap. There must be a significant amount of Chineseium in the Iron. Just installed Pagid pads on my LR4 - feels better than the OEM Ferodos they replaced.

    Fox 2.0 shocks

This. Gap Tool and add a couple of inches to standard height. With a 100K miles and sugar sand grinding away daily at my shocks, never had an issue. Also, I came back from a Pine Barrens run yesterday, (Quaker Bridge Road looks like it has been bombed and strafed for any of you New Jersians btw)...

oil change frequency poll under normal driving conditions

I think the only surefire way, especially if you bought a used Landy like I did, is to Blackstone test your oil sample if you are worried about wear. The one thing our Landies have going for them is a lot of oil capacity, so viscosity/dirt by volume will be less.

3 blissful weeks with my meticulously maintained ‘15 LR4 and then dread.

Nah. You're all wrong. I think its the DFK relay causing problems. - As in the Don't F***ing Know Relay. A term we British rely upon to explain the strange occurrences we engineer into all fine automobiles.

I have had a loaner D5 for a week Ask Me Anything (LR4 owner)

"Far more off road capable" - Rubbish. More like not really any more capable. Wading depth 35" Did you pop the bonnet and see where the diff breathers were? Has anyone? Yesterday I had a big old pine bough (good 5" diameter) lift up from the mud due to my front wheel driving over it. Well that...

I HOPE this is not it - independent suspension UUURGH. Look at that back door! Fat mini clubman written all over it.

How many miles on your LR4?

2010 LUX - 95,842 No air suspension issues - and that includes accidentally jumping it over a sand berm, with all wheels about 4ft off the ground lol. My next project is either Waxoly the chassis, or treat it with Boeshield T-9, to keep our east coast corrosion at bay.

    L319 vs. L462...

You see I have to disagree. I live in the sand. NJ Pine Barrens sugar sand, not that thick beach stuff. My D5 loaner had a hard time transitioning through flooded patches (where the water runs back into the hole after fording through) whereas my old LR4 bites in and just grunted its way through...

2011, 66k miles, flat battery issues

I would, like others have mentioned, make sure you have the right sized battery. My 2010 came with an undersized battery which I ended up dying after repeated charges. Since fitting the proper sized Bosch AMG no problem in two years.

Doing my oil change on 2010 LR4.

I'm no oil expert, but I read that on a Ford forum. For what is worth, Mobil 1 advanced Synthetic also meets both 925A and 945A: Protection for the maximum interval between recommended oil changes. Helps to reduce fuel consumption. Meets the requirements of Chrysler HEMI engines with MDS...

Doing my oil change on 2010 LR4.

Just did mine at 93,300K - $94.00 amazon prime. Used the Jag (Mahle) oil filter and 10qts of 5w-20 Castrol Edge extended performance (Gold jug, fluid Titanium). LR calls for -925A rated oil, ironically a Ford standard. The new Edge is 930/945-A, so it supersedes the 8 year old 925-A standard. No...

LR4 Transmission oil change... mixed feelings.

Thought I'd update the group. I didn't complete a 3rd transmission adaptation, as she has appeared to have sorted herself out. I guess it just took a bit of time.

Anyone done their own spark plugs?

I just completed an oil change (93500 miles), but while I was in there took out a plug to inspect ready for 100K service, and it looked like it was almost new, no erosion at all on the contacts.

    Preemptive 80K mile service...

I actually have a slow coolant leak. I replaced my water pump (leaking from the pulley shaft) months ago, and now I think I'm regretting not spending another $86 on the y pipe. On another note you can pull off an oil change for $94 via amazon.

Yeah, I did the same, and ended up reconnecting it.

NEW LR3 LR4 GAS TANK SKID PLATE

I took my petrol tank skid plate off to fix the gasket leak on top of the tank. It seemed anything but a tin can, especially when it was laying on my chest! The ridges and shape make the plate pretty tough, plus it goes up the side of the tank a bit, giving it some extra protection.
