    Scary Tire Story...

I've found that if you generally reference a TSB and/or have a copy of it, the dealers are generally more willing to perform the work without a hassle. I've never had an issue with my dealer and alignment specs. I think it's pretty common knowledge that the 05-06 Discos had issues in this...

    Nav DVD

The Part Number I have on the latest NAV disc I have (07-08) is 6H42-10E898-BB. That is the only part number listed on my disc. Hope that helps. Ironically this disc is the same disc being distributed with most of the 08 LR3s I've been in. I did noticed they have the BC disc available now...

Is something wrong with my LR3?

I would have the dealer check the alignment and tire balance to ensure everything is good in those areas.

Is something wrong with my LR3?

How are the tires (tread, wear etc) and alignment on the vehicle?

    Snow driving tip

Having a family member who actually works in the Tire industry (for a manufacturer) I can say from what I've been told, that siping is not factory supported and if the tire fails, you will generally not get factory support from the manufacturer if they realize the tires were siped. Whether or...

    Snow driving tip

I will vouch for the GY SAs they are among the best tires I've used on the D3!! The truck feels like it's on rails in all situations I've been in so far, including nasty snow storms with icy roads.

    Snow driving tip

Siping does provide a slight improvement in snow etc, but you may also find that on dry or sometimes wet rainy pavement your break times * may* increase slightly. I personally don't see the improvement as enough to potentially void my tire warranty, but I know people who swear by it.. :-)...

    Cooper Zeon LTZ 285/60/R18

I have the GY SAs and can only say great things about them. The truck handles better with these tires than my last set, rides smoother, and quieter, and the tires handle themselves quite well so far.. I'll post back when I start racking up 15k or so miles on them though.

Help! need Service/Repair manual for LR3

You may find some help at http://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/extfree2viewlrprod/index.jsp although not everything on that site is free (TSB's etc.)

LR3 Xenon Headlights from 2005 Model Year

For non-adaptive Xenons, this is correct, they are plug & plus, the light is "all in one" if you will. Should be able to just pick em up, and put em in..

Kuhmo and Avon tires- How are they holding up?

I have zero respect generally when it comes to Consumer reports and automotive related rankings. They do get a lot of things right, but I just don't think they truly have a grasp in the automotive field. Just my two cents...

    G4 Challenge Spec

The orange G4 pictured above is indeed what is run on challenges. You can find more info on what was spec'd on the D3 at: http://www.g4ownersclub.com/Resources/2006/SpecSheets/Discovery%203%20%202006%20spec%20Sheet.PDF pictures are available at...

    G4 Challenge Spec

The accessories are pretty steep. The G4 challenge has been cancelled due to economic conditions yadda yadda etc. You can find the latest G4 LR3s on Ebay for about 58k generally. There are about 10 of them released for sale, so various dealers have them.

    Wipers

I use Bosch replacement blades. They usually run me about $22 a blade, give or take a dollar or two depending on where I pick them up at. I haven't had the dealer replace my blades, so I can't speak to what they are using as replacements, but the Bosch blades have been great so far!

    Halogen to Xenon headlight swap

Are you talking new or used? New you're going to pay a pretty penny for them (generally at least $600-800 for one light.) Used I've seen them go for $200 a light and usually hover around ~$400 something a light on eBay. If you are patient sometimes you'll get a smokin deal on a set on eBay.

    New to LR

Retrofitting the NAV is tough to do on the LR3 (with factory NAV.) The HSE has memory seats, upgraded leather, adaptive HIDS, and the upgraded stereo. :-) Oh and the 19"s are standard on the HSE.

    The headlight show!

I posted this in a previous thread, but yes you can upgrade the lights on an SE with NON-ADAPTIVE HIDS. You cannot however retro-fit ADAPTIVE HIDS on an SE, the wiring will not play in your favor: If you want to ugprade from Halogen to Xenon the following part numbers will allow you to...

    Halogen to Xenon headlight swap

So there are two types of Xenons for the LR3, you have Adaptive and Non-Adaptive. If you are retro-fitting them, you need to go with non-adaptive (non moving.) The part numbers for them are: XCB001122 (right) XBC001132 (left) These model numbers are pretty much plug & play and are the...

Cooling system hoses at 30K miles?

I had a similiar letter saying I needed a "Tune-up." I emailed the service advisor inquiring about the tune-up who said that letter is incorrect, and to ignore it. They stated a marketing firm sends out those letters and have no direct information about the vehicle.

    I'm Out shopping, HD Question

Just to chime in here, I don't have the HD package, and have yet to get stuck or have any issues in some pretty damn hairy situations. So take that how you will. If you can find a HD package for the price you're looking for, definitely jump on it.

WOW, it's not just a button with a picture of a snowflake!!

Great to hear. In CO we're getting into the winter season, it was -18 the other night. I've had the same fun in my truck. I actually have GoodYear Forterra Silent Armors on it (came from the dealer with them) they are bigger than the stock wheels at 285, but they handle quite nice. :-)

    This sucks

Your emblems should be covered under factory warranty. Push the issue with them, or see if there is another dealer in your area who can replace them.

    Blue Tooth & Address book

I had this update added to my 06 SE, it cost me just the shop time cost $99 for one hour of software updates to the bluetooth system. I just told my dealer there is a bluetooth update that allows address book synchronization, and they found it pretty easily.

Alignment Defect / Uneven Premature Tire Wear

Was your vehicle brand new or a CPO? I do think the alignment issue sucks hard, but I think if you have an 08 or 09 model year with the issue, you'd definitely get a different result. It's easier for them to use the "wear" argument when the vehicle is older. I hope this pans out better for...
