Front lower control arm bushes worn? Video

Thanks for the update, please keep us posted. I had the dealership inspect my front/rear upper/lower control arms and bushings at the 52.5K service (about 2 weeks ago) and all was well. Did not have any symptoms, but looks like this is becoming a common wear issue.

    LR4 real world pics

In hindsight, I should have taken a few more pics. You can probably find them elsewhere in the automotive press reviews of the LR4. I did go back for a 2nd visit later in the day without the camera, got inside, and played a bit with the navi screen and other menus.

At long last, I'm an LR3 owner

Congrats on your new purchase! 17K miles on a 2006 is an exceptional find. You should have many trouble free miles ahead of you. Glad you were able to gain some insight on this forum while searching for your LR3. Oh, and pics would be nice too

Strange Acceleration Issue - Torque Converter?

What octane fuel are you using? A lower octane fuel can contribute to the symtom you have described. Also, higher ethanol content may also be a factor. Did you fill with something different recently? Could be related. Just to confirm, what vehicle are you driving? You posted in the LR3...

new to me LR3 HSE -- "field service actions"

Looks like the usual list of recalls and TSBs for 2005 LR3's. B034 and B036 here: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/gallery/albums/userpics/10097/SB034_SB036%20Vehicle%20Enhancement%20Program.pdf P045 was the clock spring in the steering wheel. B016 was the fuel tank replacement.

Anybody using ramps to change their oil?

Just curious - you have a 2008 HSE. Oil changes are included within the maintenance program up to 50K miles. Why DIY at this point?

One more note - the rear seat DVD entertainment system is now integrated into the back of the front headrests. No more giant center screen to block your view. The local dealership was giving away those bears. They also had soft pretzels. Hey, we are near Philly, what did you expect? :-)...

    LR4 real world pics

I have modified the slideshow above, and added one additional interior pic showing the new headlight switch. This vehicle had keyless entry and push button start. Totally new key fob. It was equipped with the armrest cooler. Oddly, the Navi unit displayed "Range Rover" on the welcome...

    LR4 real world pics

I had the opportunity to sit in the 2010 LR4 yesterday. As expected, the interior has been significantly refreshed, and makes use of more upscale materials. New engine (with functional dual air intakes), new hard-drive based Navi, new interior/exterior color, etc. Also, saw a nice LR3 EMS...

It is a damm shame !!!!

This is one of the many good reasons for the forums. Did they lube the steering bump stops? This was very common on the 2005's. I still have a slight amount of bump feedback coming up through the steering wheel even today under the same conditions you have described.

Installed 4 New Michelin Latitude Tour HP

My tire shop simply lifts the LR3 on their regular lift. When coming back down, it enters "extended mode" and can be lowered to normal height with the usual suspension toggle switch. Is this a problem? Should I only lift at the A-arm or cross member and a floor jack? I've rotated the tires...

    Rear a/c issue

The rear HVAC system for 2nd and 3rd row can either be controlled by the front controls, or by the roof controls in the 2nd row. Check to be sure that you are set to operate via front controls (see owner manual). I suspect you have it set for rear control, and that the rear is set to heat.

My Cargo Door Hydraulic Arm Broke

Just following up to say that I was able to repair this issue by replacing the stripped pivot bolt which holds the top of the strut. $1.53 plus tax, and about 5 minutes, and all set.

My Cargo Door Hydraulic Arm Broke

I am going to the dealership tomorrow to pick up a replacement pivot bolt for the strut mount failure, and will ask the service advisor about the TSB. I also just completed a 50K service visit, and agree that this should have been addressed before it failed. It either wasn't performed, or...
