Bushings and Lower Control Arm
Mine went out at 58k. Thankfully, my extended warranty paid for my bushings and control arm. I was told it's a common problem with the lr4 along with the water pump, which I had replaced at 50k...also under warranty. -
Any LR4 thefts?
Growing up with parents that pay cash for everything, I've always lived with the thought that if I need GAP insurance, I probably can't afford the car. Sort of like financing a car for 72 months, IMHO. I've noticed zero down financing is back on many retail fronts. I hope Americans learned... -
Wow, the stock tires are horrible in snow!
Is there any truth to switching in and out of tires on the same wheel even if it's only twice a year weakens the tire specifically around the bead? -

HID Bulb went out
I dropped my LR4 off at the dealer on tuesday and noticed when they were driving it back to the shop that my front right HID light was not on when the headlights were on. My dealer is assuming it's a bulb and said one buld is $250...WOW! So I'm searching around on the internet and... -
A couple of items on my 2010 LR4
I believe you just need to push the window button down all the way and then pull it up and hold it for 3 secs once it closes. I did this for my front passenger side last week after my audio guy had to pull the door panel off to fix a loose speaker wire. This instruction is also in the manual... -

Warranty
Yes, ford offers a good one along with LR. I have the ford esp and had to use it for a water pump replacement already. I'm not sure if you know but you can do searches on our forum. search for 'extended warranty' as there have been extensive threads on this topic already that will help you. -
Center console latch remove?
Ditto. I run my USB cable out of the left side of the lid and nowhere near the handle to avoid crimping the cable. It just hangs out between my driver seat and center console by the seat belt lock, out of the way until I need it. -

NAV8 vs SCV6 Comparison
Honestly, given the minuscule MPG difference, if there was a choice and price would be the same, would folks choose the SCV6 for this vehicle over the V8 since you get better towing...etc. with the latter? I think if the answer is V8 for most, it conveys how people feel about the SCV6 in... -

I'm intrigued by your comments with HW performance because I've actually talked to my dealer and they say the opposite. Where you may see a difference is when you are needing to throttle to quickly pass on the HW and the extra horses and the V8 engine does it effortlessly while the SCV6 is not... -
ebc slotted rotors front
That is a bummer. It's looking like I'm due for brakes later this year and I was leaning towards some EBC brakes and rotors. You're experience does give me a slight pause on the idea and what was a potential money saver. -

2010 LR4 without NAV Recommendations
I forgot they made these without navs in 2010. Be careful with third party navs because the system is fiber optic and integrates 4x4 info into the existing screens, at least that is how the HSE and above works. I'm not sure with the non-nav lr4 but it's worth looking into so you don't lose... -
2010 LR4 HSE Lux - No satellite radio?
I have a 2010 Lux and do have sat radio so I'm not sure why it's extra for others with the same package. That's weird. -
