    Front Fender Flare

Back at this search...keep running into "primer grey" and I don't want to mess with / pay for painting them. Is there a source for black ones that fit the LR4?

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

I tried removing the cross-member and quickly concluded that it was not worth the hassle. I probably spent 20 minutes removing the four (or is it 5?) pan bolts. They're a PITA but just breathe through it and get it done...ain't that bad and not nearly as painful as actually removing the...

    Discover 4 2012 with 6HP28 ZF transmission

There is a LONG thread on that, which can all be summarized as "watch this video": Video is for LR3/Disco3 but LR4 is the same. I've done the job on 2011 LR4 and 2013 RRS. Each job took me ~5 hours. Only real "trick" was to use a very small ratchet (the sort usually used for turning screws)...

    Bike Racks!!! Any ideas?

For ~10 years I've been using Kuat tray style rack, initially 2 bike and later upgraded to 4 bike. Kuat makes a wonderful rack, but these days our Kuat is in a 2 bike configuration and mostly used on my wife's Evoque. With the 4 bike configuration, the Kuat rack is heavy and unwieldy...

    Front Fender Flare

@silvajt2 where did you get the rough black wheel arches? I'm interested in putting those on my 2011 green LR4. Original wheel arches keep popping loose.

Why does this keep coming off

After a windshield change I had the same problem. It seems that the holes were a bit damaged by a clumsy windshield technician. New OEM clips didn’t help. After trying everything OEM that I could try, I used two rubber expansion nuts (also known as well nuts) with stainless steel recessed...

    2011 LR4 Transmission TCM failure

I did all of the work myself. It isn't difficult, just time consuming. You need to be comfortable working under a vehicle, have a good torque wrench, and be able to properly remove and reinstall the drain pad and TCM. There are good TCM instructions online, pay particular attention to the...

Steal of a deal on an LR4 with issues

The Atlantic British replacement kit works great...just need time, patience, and a set of 4 ramps to lift the entire vehicle up (or a hoist). I've done the job a couple of times and it really isn't that bad...4-5 hour job and then half a bottle of shampoo to get the ATF out of my hair.

    2011 LR4 Transmission TCM failure

Fixed! Only cost me $100 for the electronics out of a junk transmission and about 5 hours of time…plus shampoo to get the transmission fluid out of my hair. According to ZF-USA the ribbon cable from the Hall-Effect sensor cracks and was almost certainly the roof cause of my problem. 2.5 years...

    Heated windshields

Most multimeters only support up to 10A and the windshield pulls a full 30A so will just pop the fuse in the multimeter. Instead I would check voltage between the two leads in the A pillars. At the same time disconnect one of the leads and measure the resistance between the two windshield...

    Terrafirma hidden winch install

I was salvage logging firewood, pulling downed trees up a steep hillside (messy job - not recommended). Winch never overheated but it was only working hard for ~5 minutes at a time, max.

    Terrafirma hidden winch install

I used the winch quite a bit this summer, always worked great. Stock battery and alternator (no second battery)

    Towing Questions.

Reviving an old(ish) thread...why not just plug the Redarc (or any other trailer brake controller) into the Ford spec plug intended for this that is above the brake pedal? Maybe the Aussie models don't have this plug? It seems suspicious to add wiring when JLR provided a plug for this...

Brake Switch Sensor Signal error / Christmas tree of errors, no brake lights

So...some damned bonehead (me) connected a winch light without a fuse, with a switch near the hood release. Everything worked great, until some time later I removed and replaced the trim panel containing the switch...and crossed the wires, resulting in the hot wire all the way back to the...

LR4 Transmission Fluid Change: Pan Swap Option

The Atlantic British kit uses the upgraded ZF pan. I've installed this in my LR4 and in 2013 RRS. It is a PITA but works perfectly, and is easy to remove the next time you need to get in there (in my case to replace the TCM). The 4 or 5 bolts across the back (above the crossover) are quite...

    Resting current draw on battery

100W Solar Panel / Low Battery !!!NO MORE!!!

One of the the great pleasures of an LR3/LR4 is the ability so sit on the tailgate enjoying a favorite beverage nicely shielded from the rain/snow, enjoying whatever view this fine vehicle has transported you to. Invariably, the pleasure is interrupted by the dreaded "Low Battery - Please start...

    Terrafirma hidden winch install

In the end I left the winch controller on a bracket behind the grill. It is nice to reach the ON/OFF switch and see the blue indicator LED's without opening the hood, but I may regret this for other reasons. If I were starting over I would probably put the controller behind the right headlight...

Foam block at the hood corners near A pillar

For now mine is re-attached with spray adhesive, and seems OK. I’ll order the replacement if this fails. Thanks for the left side code. Here in Bozeman we’re enjoying winter, -20F over the weekend, heat wave today got almost up to freezing!

    Terrafirma hidden winch install

@djkaosone Thanks for the pics. What made you move it from the front grill to the airbox? After a bit of fabricating I got it mounted in basically the same location as you showed in the OP. The obvious downside is that one must remove the grill to connect the winch cable - but I suppose that...

    Terrafirma hidden winch install

Installing the Terrafirma Hidden Winch from Atlantic British and I'm struggling to place the controller (2011 LR4). OP placed it behind the grill, but this seems to be fighting with both the grill and the AC condenser. Any beta/suggestions/photos would be much appreciated! TIA

Foam block at the hood corners near A pillar

Trying to identify the part number and purpose of the foam blocks that go at each corner of the hood, where it meets the A pillars. Mine from 2011 LR4 and breaking down. What I can read of the part number appears to be D500020 Do I care? What are these for? Maybe help keep the A pillar from...

Where to find a used hiddenwinch

From time-to-time I really wish that I had a winch...but not enough to spend on a new winch + mount etc. By now there are enough LR4's getting old that there must be a few being retired with winch etc being sold...but I can't seem to find one. Am I not searching at the right time, or are...

    2015 LR4 - Battery died, now doors won't lock

Occasionally doing a hard reset by disconnecting the battery is just part of the SOP with Land Rovers, at least of the 2010-2013 vintage (with 2015 Evoque I've not yet experienced such gremlins, but 2011 LR4 and 2013 RRS both have the same electronics and corresponding gremlins). I learned...
