The check engine light went out so no current code. Re: the engine flush - he said that sometimes the V8's that either a) don't have their oil changed enough, or b) are driven gently can accumulate some oil sludge in the in and around the valves which can cause issues under heavy acceleration.

I had a similar issue, however it did not resolve with a simple on/off. One of the high-pressure fuel pumps malfunctioned and put the truck into "limp mode" It was about $1500 to replace both pumps. I use a private Rover mechanic and he recommends a fuel system cleaner every 5k miles or so.
@vindio How did you adjust the travel on the front wipers? I have the same "cracking" problem but its from the wiper hitting the windshield gasket. Thanks!
