    Lucky8 18’ off-road rims and tpms

I've been running 33" tires on Lucky8 18" wheels and spacers (both Terrafirma I believe) for about two years. I've put ~37,000 miles on the wheels and spacers, with a lot of overloading and off-roading from Kentucky to California mixed in and I've never had any issues while driving...the one...

    IID tool question

I recently used the IID tool to raise my LR4 one inch as I needed a bit more space with 33” tires. The height adjustment option has 4 different settings that you can program. Just select one and continue to hold down for ~2 seconds and you’ll get the option to adjust. It was in mm, with a max...

    LR4 Brakes and Rotors

Although I haven't changed my rotors, I did replace the front brake calipers and brake pads on my 2012 LR4 a few months back and it was extremely simple...and that was my first time. Chris Fix has an in depth video of how to change brakes and rotors. I even used his video to make a brake...

Need advice from someone with offroad LR4 experience

I did a lot of trails in my stock ‘12 LR4 before most of my mods, too include elephant hill and other Moab trails, and so the vic is more than capable stock. That being said, for me, my rock sliders are invaluable. They saved my frame, air compressor, and lots of $$ in repairs (I have TR). I’m...

    Are Coils the answer?

I’ve done a decent amount of rock crawling in my LR4, along with other trails, and I’ve successfully navigated those trails with both stock and beefy tires, with and without a winch, with/without steel bumpers, etc, I actually ran elephant hill in Moab years ago in my, at the time, bone-stock...

New TPMSs for new R18 tires LR4

Equalizer, thanks, but the problem was with OEM TPMS sensors as they have an aluminum (unbendable) valve stems and thus don't fit as you have to bend the valve stem to fit..as well as to attach a air hose. Sounds like the OEM TPMS work on Compos and LR wheels, but the steelies from Lucky8...

New TPMSs for new R18 tires LR4

So just left discount tire and the VDU TPMS sensors, which have an aluminum nut similar to the OEM TPMS would not sit flush in the 18” terrafirma wheel. I called both Lucky8 and Atlantic British and asked about compatible sensors for wheel and they said they haven’t heard of TPMS that fit the...

New TPMSs for new R18 tires LR4

ryanjl good point regarding change in frequency as my LR4 is a 2012. Interesting your DT purchased oem as I asked them to purchase oem, but they said I’d need to purchase through LR dealer and they’d just give me money back and install for free. Oh well, I’ve been driving around with the light...

New TPMSs for new R18 tires LR4

If possible, reuse the tpms from oem wheels. I’m running the 18” wheels, but I purchased new non-oem from discount tires when installed...haven’t worked since purchasing. First they used wrong frequency, so replaced (Land Rover informed me North America uses 315 MHz). They still didn’t work, I...

All the battery posts got me scared ....

Mine lasted five, I’ll change out every four from now on. Went with DieHard. Also used my small Viking battery starter/jumper to jump mine near end of battery life along several other vehicles...worked every single time. Great $100 investment I bought from harbor freight

Cooper Zeon LTZ Off-Road tires on Stock 19" Wheels

I have four 19" LR wheels. Three have Cooper Zeon LTZ tires with between 8/32 and 9/32 tread and one Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac with 13/32 (when I popped tire in Moab, it was the only replacement available). Anyone interested for $200.

which power steering fluid for 2010 LR4?

    I use royal purple.

    Rock slider

I have tactical Rover with nerf bar/step. These are all I’ve ever used. Absolutely recommend them. Like avslash I’ve slid the LR4 along boulders with no issue to sliders or vehicle. Heavy but securing the air compressor and frame was worth the added weight.

    Jacking with air suspension

So true...hit the White Rim Trail in Moab years ago shortly after purchasing LR4, but foolishly never replaced donut...well, popped a tire half way up Murphy's Hogback (65 miles into the loop), had to back down and then replace tire with donut. Didn't know terrain ahead and fearful of popping...

    LR4 Tailgate not opening

This has happened to me several times. I just shut all doors and lock my car with the key fob. Wait about 10 seconds and unlock the car with the fob...works for mine at least.

75k mile service - diff and transfer case fluid change

Sounds like Monterey, CA prices...was quoted $1,400 to flush transmission fluid. Quoted over $700 to change transfer case and diff fluid.

75k mile service - diff and transfer case fluid change

Just replaced my transfer case and diff fluid in ‘12 LR4... purchased all fluids and new fill and drain plugs from Atlantic British for $175. Kit for LRs with rear lockers was $195 with all new plugs. If worried about condition of plugs, this may be a good option...

Things to look for on a high mileage LR4

Ed, congrats on the find...that is a beautiful ride! I just want to share my experience buying '12 LR4 that helped me, and hopefully someone else: I couldn't find an LR4 that I was completely happy with at a dealer, so I expanded my search across the US to individual sellers. Found one...

    LR4 on 33's

Thanks ryanjl, yes you will need wheel spacers...I did mention spacers in my writeup, but I didn't clarify...I purchased both wheel spacers and wheels from Lucky8 and like i've mentioned before, purchased 5 wheels and 4 spacers for under $1,000. Tuffant look nice as well and run 5 for $1,025...
