    Does this 5.0 sound healthy?

I didn’t like that ‘pause’ sound when you first started it but yeah, my 2011 with 185k sounded like that.

    Buying a used high mileage 2010 LR4

I just sold my 2011 with 185K for $7,000. Honestly he was the only call I had in over two weeks but tough to sell when you get near 200K miles - good luck with yours.

Emotional buy alert - need help now!

For the record I have no concerns or issues with the diesel motor, have had several in my life previously so I’m a fan. it’s the normal Range Rover anxiety that has to do with the electronics quitting or not working, suspension faults, or other expensive items. Nothing new but we all know what...

Emotional buy alert - need help now!

Thanks ggrupea, I’m still trying to work it. One of those trade in this, sell this on CL, add some cash and roll the chicken bones for a decision.

Emotional buy alert - need help now!

I love you brother. I’m not hauling anything, more than likely less than 12k miles per year, a couple of good freeway trips from San Diego area to Monterey.

Emotional buy alert - need help now!

Guys, currently in a LR4 that I love but time to move on. Came across a 2016 HSE td6, was not looking for this vehicle but here I am, face to face with this beautiful beast - someone tell me to run away or maybe take a closer look. Dark green color, black wheels, 65k miles asking price is $37k -...

    Your experience about LR4 V8 5.0

My man said it best, it's powerful but somehow feels light. Other than the coolant pipes and the 'click-click-click' sound upon start-up sometimes she's been great. One of the best cars and engines I've ever had - 185,000 miles as of today.

    Well crap!

Damn that ride looks good - makes me sick to think it just fucked you like that, sorry man. No value comment coming; I'm on the 'ride till you die' plan as someone earlier in the thread put it. Done the crossover pipes, water pump, plugs, O2 sensors, alternator and AC compressor between 150k -...

    Mityvac...

Mityvac is the shit, the LR4 was made for it - must have changed the oil on over 50 different cars in my lifetime and the LR4 is the easiest by far with the oil filter up top and the fill oil has the tube for extraction right there as well. You guys are just to anal with your 'you cant get all...

3K oil change intervals for our LR4s?

**** that, every 10K with full synthetic, no problem at 183,000 miles :)

    Showoff Your LR4

Nice rides all, I tend to like the white LR4's with black wheels personally and is it me or are there a lot of Stornaway Grey models out there? This is my 2011 HSE LUX located here in Southern California. 183,000 miles and although I was going to give her up the wife and I said screw it, lets...

    LR4 Suspension over the bumps

Interesting as this is the opposite of my experience in my 2011 5.0 HSE - except the part about lower control arms or front wishbones as you call them. With 180,000 miles I've changed them twice already. I'm still rolling the OE wheels and tire size and honestly, she still rides great. I have a...

Range Rover Sport Best Year? 2013?

I own an LR4 but have had a secret love affair with the RR Sport for some time - I agree the 2012/2013 model is my favorite. Recently saw a 2013 Sport Supercharged at a local Carmax in that dark red color with only 40K miles on it but without any documentation I didn't dare, but I wanted to so...

Ticking nose or just ticking bomb?

Ha-Ha, yeah me too! Told my wife last month we have to sell the LR4 now before it blows up on us or needs a major suspension work but...the LR4 feels so damn good still, just went to Joshua Tree, Palm Springs for the weekend and came back over the Santa Rosa Mtn ridge on the way to Temecula and...

Ticking nose or just ticking bomb?

Wait, what? I have the same exact tic-toc sound upon start up only sometimes, yes appears to be more prevalent during the winter. I hear it for 10 sec or so then it goes away. For 4 years now I’ve convinced myself it was the chain tensioners and now you guys tell me it’s something to do with the...

    LR 4 Retired

Great thread, I have a soccer mom LR4 and although we've loved it and by all accounts she's been a really great example of a LUX 5.0 (2011) I'm cutting my losses now and moving on, trying to put the wife in a Toyota, Lexus, maybe a smaller Cadillac SUV but besides the Tic-Toc of the chain as...

    5.0 v8 timing chains

Almost 180k on mine and never done the timing chain or tensioners. I’ve heard them ‘clacking away’ upon start up but it’s always been intermittent. Good luck

    2011 LR4 for sale soon...feeler thread

Funny you said that mbw, part of me wants to do just that. Just drive it until it doesn’t make sense to repair anymore. But where is that point at right? Might let one of my kids drive it. Thanks

    2011 LR4 for sale soon...feeler thread

Yes, front lower control arms replaced, twice! All air suspension components are original and work correctly. I also had the plugs replaced 15K ago and it has LR roof racks and ladder as well. Thank you -

    2011 LR4 for sale soon...feeler thread

Ill be selling my 2011 LR4 in the next few months and thought I'd throw it out here advance in case someone was interested. Without a doubt the best LR I've ever owned and possibly the best vehicle period, no garage queen and a lot of miles but she's been good to us - specs: 175,000 miles on...

    Went to use hitch...surprise!

Well well I only need to put a bike carrier on it and I see these adapters on amazon for $75 unless you guys tell me those are complete trash, it's only one bike it needs to carry.

    Went to use hitch...surprise!

After three years of ownership I take the tow hitch cover off as I need to put the bike rack on her as I'm dropping my kid off at college and I need to take her bike. Well wasn't I surprised when I removed the cover to find a big loop looking thing. That's it, no further discussion required
