I would want to chase that leak down. Btw, on your original question...My 2016 only 23K on the ODO sounds pretty much like that. Having a repair reserve $'s is a good plan. Even on the SC v6 the cooling system...crossovers, water pump etc. is an achilles heal. -

I'll add to the budget. I get the wisdom of the fluids and lubes, but can't see doing 'spark plugs' until there seems to be an issue? Save those $'s in case one of the coolant pipes starts spewing before 40K? (SMH..LOL). -

I did get a coolant warning while driving a bunch in the desert last summer. Amber triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle along with a message - "coolant level low" or "check coolant level"...don't recall exactly, but sure enough, it was...(there is a sensor). -

Agreed! the electronic gauge/oil level is useless as a 'warning' system. It's only usefulness is to check the oil level and 'top up the oil' which the manual says should be done weekly (I sure haven't been doing that, but will start). What "the GUY" is likely concerned about is that your 2005 (LR3's I think?) anti-theft system includes an 'immobilizer' that may activate if the system senses that the FOB is not legit or may have been tampered with...(ie: the chip gets damaged). That said, I have never heard of that happening... -

2016 SCV6 is 16K miles (26k km.), or 1 year, and assumes using the LR designer 'extended performance' oil, or something similar like Castrol Edge 'extended'...likely the same stuff and claims good for 20k . SMH, asking for trouble. -

Fundamentally no difference. They did introduced a 2016.5 Model- 'Landmark Edition' at the end of the run for LR4's. Basically it includes all of the HSE Lux options packaged at a reduced price. I think the only available options that are not included in the 'Landmark' are Heavy Duty Package... -

No experience with this part, but the link you provided appears to be 'aftermarket' and the other one is Genuine LR for about twice the price. Fitments are the same. Same options available over on FCP Euro, same approx pricing. For about $25 more, I'd just do the Genuine part. -
