There may be nothing you can do... P0016

Well, 875 miles later and the P0018-00 came back on while my wife went to run an errand. This is time power was reduced but luckily she was just 2 miles from home and drove back home. I finally had a chance to look at it today and cleared the code with the GAP tool. I started the engine and...

    Aftermarket Exhaust anyone?

I’m not a farmer so I don’t really care, lol. I’ll order this after the next round of maintenance jobs just for the sport exhaust sound. I don’t want the loud or obnoxious sounds like some of the YouTube videos after deleting the center mufflers. From an engineering standpoint, the Magnaflow...

Well, nothing says quiet and refined like a 2.5” lift and 33” MTs. Lol

There may be nothing you can do... P0016

This thread is very interesting as I my 2013 recently had a P0018 code pop up shortly after doing a service. At 130K, I did the oil change, spark plugs, PCVs, and air filters. Truck drove fine with no issues but after a few days and 100 miles later, the check engine light and restricted...

    Control arm fail

I agree, definitely not normal from what I’ve read on here. I picked up the LR4 last January with 112K miles. Sometime in March it developed a clunk in the front end which I self diagnosed as a control arm bushing. Me being me, I decided it was due for a COMPLETE suspension refresh front and...

    Control arm fail

My LR4 is on its 3rd set, done at least once by the previous owner and evident from the copper grease on all the bolts when I removed them. The bushings on both sides were all cracked, the inserts are useless. Makes me wonder whey they didn’t go with a solid rubber design.

    Sunroof Drain...or so I thought!

I replaced the A-pillar both sides along with the windshield cowl. Parts counter at the dealership printed out instructions when I picked the up which I thought was odd at the time since they are all just clipped into place. Instructions are just like you stated, clip the plastic guide and...

    Control arm fail

I DIY’d the upper and lowers in the rear. You will need an assortment of wrenches and breaker bars handy since access to some of the bolts are limited. Break lines will need to be disconnected since the retainers for the hard lines are part of the arms so be prepared to do a flush/bleeding...

Toll-road RDIF sticker on LR4 windshield

Mine is located in the center, just under the rear view mirror. No issues on I-405 or when crossing the 520 bridge. Hope to see you around town!

    Camshaft Adaption Values

Here is mine from this morning. First picture was shortly after starting, sitting overnight. Second picture was after a 15 mile drive. 2013 V8, 123k miles Oil change interval is 5000 miles, Redline 5W-20 since I purchased it with 112k miles. Factory serviced since new, no record of the...

Your LR4 looks great with the rack fitted. How is the wind noise from inside the cabin after the install?

    Mechatronic Replacement

Yep, twice. Nothing beats the feeling of putting everything back together and going through the filling process, only to find the truck wouldn’t start because the mechatronic sleeve was not all the way in and prevented the harness from locking into place. I pulled on the connection and the...

    My LR4 Journal

It’s been a minute since my last update, but it wasn’t long before the LR4 needed some attention. After a few weeks of acclimating to the Seattle weather, I noticed the rear wiper was operating slower than usual. Then I was greeted with every warning light on the dash. By the time I pulled up...

    13 LR4 Transmission Pan - ZF6HP26 Pan work for a 6HP28?

I purchased my kit from AB, which I think is just the kit from Britpart based on the packaging, which is just a kit from BMW since my metal pan still had the sticker recommending to use only BMW lifetime fluids.

    Mechatronic Replacement

I can vouch for everyone commenting that the transmission does not have to come out. I have a 2013 with the 5.0L and just did a full transmission service in my driveway along with a mechatronic service in my dining room. If yours still has the plastic pan, drain and then remove all of the...

Terrafirma Swingaway Tire Carrier Issue - Loose Wheel

I just installed a Terrafirma tire carrier on my LR4 and I’m running into a really interesting fitment issue where there is still play in the wheel even after I’ve tightened down all 3 lugs onto the mounting plate. I’m running a RR wheel with a 47mm offset, so that has more material than the...

    My LR4 Journal

As mention previously, the drive home was uneventful. The truck drove smoothly, no warning lights on the dash, and I made it home. What more could you ask for in a Land Rover? My biggest issue was really the infotainment. Having lived with BMW’s attest iDrive iterations and wireless...

I think I need a new bearing. Do LCA replacements "while I'm in there"?

My philosophy has been if you’re going to change one side, you might as well replace the other side just to be safe. Have you had your wheels rebalanced? I recently went from the the stock 30s to 33s and the vibration was ridiculous. I went to a different tire shop for a rebalance and the...
