I also noticed the supercharger cooling loop never gets hot. Those are the small semirigid coolant pipes just above the supercharger air cooler. The auxiliary radiator also never gets hot. I can hear the supercharger auxiliary electric pump turning ON when I open or close the driver door. Looks...
Is LR117568 the correct thermostat for a 2015 LR4 3.0L w/supercharger?
There's so many different part number. Are there options for different opening temperature?
I agree with your statement, but then why does the t-stat have an electric heat element? I will troubleshoot further. I vacuum filled the coolant, but still have air pockets in the front cross over pipe.
On Guam we have limited mechanics familiar with European cars. I have taken the LR4 to two different mechanics. One said it is an engine internal issue. The other mechanic shop has no idea. I don't trust the Land rover dealership.
At idle, coolant temp is normal for about 45 minutes, then overheating rapidely. I can't monitor actual temperatures of ECT1 and ECT2 because no communications via the OBD socket .
I suspect a faulty ECM on my 2015 LR4. I have the following symptoms:
Overheating. I suspect the ECM is not energising the electric thermostat. The upper radiator hose is never hot.
Viscous fan is always engaged.
No communication with the OBD socket. See attached picture. I have confirmed 12...
My auxiliary battery is dead on my 2015 LR4. The eco start/off light is ON. I don't mind not having the eco start/stop function. I never use it. What else does this battery do? Do i need to replace it? Can the LR4 do without it?
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the thermostat is only influence by the coolant temp, nothing else.
The top radiator hose on my 2015 LR4 takes about 20 minutes to get very hot, indicating an open thermostat.
Neither, it is based on the electric coolant pump. Coolant exit at the supercharger radiator upper connection (item 5), then enters on top of the electric pump connection, to continue through the supercharger cooler. Cooland enters the supercharger radiator lower connection (item 7) to flow up.
What is the proper coolant flow direction for the supercharger cooling system? I believe the Land Rover workshop manual picture of the supercharger radiator is in error, while the diagram is correct. See attached. Item 7 should be listed as “Inlet” and item 5 is “Outlet”. The flow direction on...
Djkaosone,
Your comment number 1 caught my attention. How do you fill cooland to the rear of the block? That connector is the output pipe from the rear crossover pipe passing throught the throttle body.
I'm having issues bleeding all the air out of a 2015 LR4 with a 3.0L, w/supercharger.
