Check out the the pictures in the haynes manual as these will show you the difference. yes the salisbury axles are a hell of a lot stronger, but more expensive! -

Yes, you should be able to fit the RR 3.9 into your landy. Have you got the complete RR?( i only ask because this will make your job easier!) Try to get the haynes manuals for the RR and the LR that you have or will be using! -
