I've searched and asked many different ways, one more try! (I'm new to this)
I have a 2.5 petrol in a 1985 L/R 90, w/ LT77.
What would be the easiest transplant into it, if I wanted a V8.
Thanks!

re engine of choice

Best and easiest option is to find an old SD1 rover with a V8 and transplant that into your L/R.
Any other option is going to involve more surgery!

Ok, The other option is either to fit the RR early model V8.
Or find the most basic Production V8 engine you can and retro fit this to your landy.
you will probably need to do some alterations to the bulkhead/also get a conversion plate to mate the engine of your choice to the gearbox.
the engine mounts will have to be move forwards/backwards to accomodate new engine.

Yes, you should be able to fit the RR 3.9 into your landy.
Have you got the complete RR?( i only ask because this will make your job easier!)
Try to get the haynes manuals for the RR and the LR that you have or will be using!
