    Determined Disco Driver

Thanks mike I will look into getting one today. After reading another thread I am assuming that the sensor is located on the driver side bell housing and has a little heat shield with 2 boltsh holding it in place...is this correct?

    Determined Disco Driver

00 L/R Disco 2. Let me first say that I love this truck but lately I have been contemplating selling it. I am fairly mechanically inclined but dont have the foggiest idea where the crankshaft position sensor is located or a notion as to what it looks like. The truck started cutting off...

    Crankshaft position sensor code

Now I am also getting code P1884 Mass air flow circuit low, but this is a first for that one and it doesnt duplicate when reset. The truck will start most of the time but after it runs for about a minute or so it will act as if its going to cut off and then it will come right back on. That is...

    Where is the ECM located?

Can anyone tell me where the ECM is located on a 2000 Land Rover Discovery 2? I am still having the problem with the crankshaft position sensor code. A few months back the dealership replaced the ECM in my truck and im wondering if maybe the wiring harness was damaged or if the connectors are...

Mike thanks for responding. I only get one code and it is P0335. Sometimes the check engine light even resets itself and then when it trips again its still P0335.

    Crankshaft position sensor code

I have a 2000 LR disco 2. Recently it started cutting off while driving and coming back on wth the drive, manual, and sport lights flashing and won't shift out of whatever gear its in when it does it until I turn the engine off and restart it. Now the engine will cut off sporadically while...

    Ticking Noise Continued

ticking noise Will I need to have any replacement gaskets on hand to reassemble? Hoping I just need to tighten a rocker arm and then can put it back together. I just want to make sure I dont have to wait for any gaskets and can have them on hand if I need them for reassembly.

    Ticking Noise Continued

it continues The lucas was a very temporary band-aid. By the time I got home the ticking was back...not as prominent but back none the less. Im confident I can pull the valve cover...its the intake with all of its hoses and cables that bother me. Is there a way to pull the cover without...

    Ticking Noise Continued

Joey, I went with the assumption that it was a chattering lifter or rocker. My oil level was about half a quart low so I replaced it with some lucas oil additive and the noise went away almost immediately. Forgive my ingorance but do you perceive this to be a good fix or should I...

    Ticking Noise Continued

I will try that. It doesnt look simple though. Im guessing I have to pull the intake as well to reach the inner bolts of the valve cover?

    Ticking Noise Continued

The ticking noise coming from the passenger side of the engine in my 2000 LR disco 2 is becoming more prominent. Again, this never happens on start up, only after driving. I now noticed that the sound is coming from under the passenger side valve cover and it is still there even when I...

    Ticking Noise

any more ideas? the sound is really loud under the passenger side valve cover...but its not consistent. Sometimes it is quiet and smooth and others like a hammer is pounding the valve cover.
