    2000 DII - Very clean - Rutland Red - $8,500 obo

Thanks Joey, and you're right. I'm located in northern Illinois. If it weren't for a lack of garage space, I wouldn't have any reasons for selling. The 1967 Camaro just came out of two year restoration. So of course, that car requres proper storage.... :) I hate to see the Rover just...

    2000 DII - Very clean - Rutland Red - $8,500 obo

Too many cars, not enough space - therefore need to sell my 2000 DII. I trucked this DII up from Texas about a year ago, so it's basically rust free, very clean, and in great shape. Details as below: * 87,500 miles - 2000 Discovery II, w/ACE * Heated leather seats * Dual sunroofs * 6 disk...

Service engine soon after oxygen sensor

Um, if you own a DI or especially a DII - an OBII reader is probably going to be one of the most effective tools in the garage for fixing your own vehicle. An absolute necessity. My humble .02

    O2 Sensor

Woah - - do don't anything crazy like going to the damn dealership or anything... Take a deep breath. this is completely fixable yourself. Need to determine if this is a MAF issue or an o2 sensor issue. Please provide a little backup as to how the truck is currently running. Any...

    Automatic transmission oil change

Some swear by sythetics, some swear by simple Dextron III ATF. I personally used Dextron III ATF and the she never shifted better. By a extra quart or two. Just a tip.

    Tune Up questions

X2 on the Champion plugs. Those $11 plugs are an absolute waste, since Champion Copper plugs are known to work best - gapped around .040 0r .042 in my opinion. From what I know, there's no hose that needs to be cut for plug wire replacement. Wire replacement can be a real pain though. I...

    Automatic transmission oil change

It's a pretty easy job. Are you also planning to replace the filter and seal as well? Hate to turn you over to a different forum, but there's a great write up on dweb that goes over everything rather well. The torx wrench sizes mentioned are a little off, but the rest of the details are...

    Steering Issue

Will deals in used parts - good used parts. The only reason I'd think an actual rod would need replacing, is due to it being damaged, bent or something. There are four tie-rod ends that can be replaced. Two on the track rod, two on the steering rod. It's not a tough job. A small sledge...

    Error codes

X2 on the MAF. I'd be willing to bet a craft-brewed six pack. Cleaning the MAF will work, but only a few times. Cleanings only lasted me about 3 months or so. A dying MAF is a dying MAF. There's no coming back to life for those damn things...

type of gas you all are using on your disco?

I use nothing but high octane - 91, 92, 93 depending on what's available. Too many foul things can and likely will happen if you don't. I even run an additive/cleaner about evey 3rd tank or so to keep everything as clean running as possible. Wouldn't you?

    Steering Issue

For parts, contact Will since he is the god of all things Rover parts. He may well have a fews things that you're looking for. Will Tillery 434.251.9331 [email protected] As for whether or not you actually need completely new steering linkage - I'd doubt it. Have you damaged...

    Thanks Will Tillery

Will is all things Rover parts. He's been straight up with me, and the parts I receive are in good working-used order. Now Joey's gone color..... It's sort of like when Dylan plugged in.

Plug image - Head gasket needed?

Thanks Joey - great links. Now I can move on to the numerous other repair/replacements with the peace of mind knowing my plugs were fine. At least something is... Next: Find coolant leak source. Replace u-joints. New shocks, springs. Poly bushes. Replace steering shaft (thanks to Will...

Plug image - Head gasket needed?

Actually, it seems this is rather normal and actually a sign of a properly tuned engine. The white 'crust' so to speak, is not what I originally thought it to be. So my never ending search for the cause of coolant loss continues. Not fun.

Plug image - Head gasket needed?

Changed the plugs today and as expected, I noticed some white crust. Please review the plug image as attached. (#2 position) This is about the worst of the bunch, but they all had the same issue. I beleive this to be a sign of coolant burning up. I've been topping off coolant more than I think...
