Velar was actually what the original Range Rover was called before they called it "Range Rover."

Good job totally sullying that name, Land Rover.

@ryanjl That's why I am particularly annoyed with this car. The original Range Rover was entirely a purpose-built vehicle, but this new Velar is simply purposeless. I bet choosing that name was McGovern's idea, too.

Can I also point out that we don't have indication that they are doing any sort of Disco 5 expedition

Supposedly they are working on a "SVX" model that will showcase the rugged ability of the ford explorer's new body style...wait, I mean...ah, screw it I give up

It looks like the Velar will have better rear visibility than the Evoque. That should make the loaner car fleet more enjoyable when my LR4 is in for repairs.

Pff.. go have a seat in an X6 and take a peek out the rearview mirror. :D

That looks... hot.

I agree. That angle looks pretty dang good.

The first two shots on that video from the quarter view made the roofline look pretty weird to me...

The way the last glass panel curves down where it meets the roof looks a little soft or lumpy.

That full side view though...
