My 2011 Land Rover LR4 HSE has a transmission problem. It makes a howling sound when moving. The local mechanics thinks that it needs a replacement circuit board, whilst another mechanic said it needs a transmission replacement. Please advise.

How do you know it's the transmission?
How many miles?
Has it ever been serviced? (fluid change)
Does it shift fine?
