As I've said on other threads on the forum, the D4 is THE BEST vehicle in its class without doubt. Ride
quality, comfort, offroad ability, size, etc, so don't compromise with replacement wheels. The best (and
most expensive!) are the Compomotives. No spacers, rods etc are needed, they are lighter (I believe) than
the steelies , stronger & look superb on a D4. The company has a very long history in motorsport & makes the finest quality products. My Compo's are "Anthracite" grey & the vehicle is dark Corris grey. It looks vastly better than with the OE 19" alloys, especially with BFG KO2's fitted. I went for 265/60-18's to avoid any issues with rubbing & I'm totally happy with their performance on very rough rocky tracks.
The BFG's have the strongest sidewalls I've found in the past 2 sets I've owned on an earlier
Disco.
The cost of the wheels is relatively minor compared to the value & irreplacability (??) of a good D4.
Of course the above is only MY opinion, but I'll stand behind the Compo's & BFG's against any competitive
wheel & tire combination.
