I keep a full size 285/60/18 in my spare compartment.. I am thinking of getting a hitch receiver and wireing for towing...
I know there may not be enough room for the receiver and the 285/60....
Any tricks?? any successful fitting??

It works. I keep my spare at probably 5-10 psi and when I install the receiver I have a stabbing procedure to insure it seats properly and locks as it should. Sometimes takes a few tries but it works.

If you simply try to push it in place the tire will stop you.

It works just barely, but you have the deflate the tire mostly as mentioned. Since I don't have any "stabbing procedure" skills, I used a jack underneath the hitch receiver and just pushed it into place that way.
