Hi all

Just bought a 2011 5.0 SC. Replacement engine in May 2020. Had the cr 2 weeks, covered 300 miles. Went on a 80m trip and on the return ran the fuel down to about 25m left then filled tank. Around 3 miles later I saw the restricted performance warning come up and the engine started to misfire. Was near a LR specialist so dropped off car. Codes were P01010, P0087 and P2610-84.

Garage has spent some time this week running tests and believe fuel pressure is low but suspect needs new timing chain. Has anyone any thoughts about this as this is going to be an expensive purchase otherwise!

Thanks.

P0087 is either the low fuel pressure sensor or high pressure fuel pumps.
Low fuel pressure sensor is in the left front fender well, behind the splash shield.

So do they need replacing or is it likely to be a timing chain. The engine was rebuilt 2 yrs ago. I know it’s difficult to assess but the research I’ve done suggests fuel pumps.

If the fuel pump was out of time, you would have different DTCs too.
