I finally broke down & bought new tires.
After languishing for months over brand, size, price, driving style, price, ratings and price, I bought Sumitomo Hr4-all terrains in 245/70r/16.
I pulled my firestone destination le's off after over 60k (still had some tread)
I was looking @ the AT version by firestone, (#1 rating @ tire rack), but I rarely let common sense drive my descisions.
I liked the tread on these and the low point was snow driving, but my D1 would be good even on the rims, so if something comes up I'll post more.
$658 out the door, included alignment check & all the lifetime bs from nat tire & bat
luck,greg
