Looking for anyone that has added an aftermarket Navigation/Audio system to the Land Rover LR3. When I bought the car I didn't get that option but now I'm kicking myself and I'm looking into adding a built in one to the original location or swap the head unit entirely. I can't find anything on the net. Anyone know about this or have done this before?

Do I need the kos v500 portal? Is this the only way to get sound through existing speakers?

Yes, you must have a kos-v500 or kos-v1000 to connect the gps to the screen. Think of the kos-vxxx devices like a receiver in home stereo. It switched the audio/video sources, has 4x35w of power, and AV outs. Im 85% done with my install. everything is installed and powered up. I just need to tap into the factory speakers for the GPS voice guidance prompts.

Hey guys, first post here. I just got my LR3 a couple weeks ago. I just got it back from my audio/visual guy today. I got my ideas from a poster on here named gtc. I used the exact same headrest he did. I had headrest DVD's put in along with an LCD screen in the hole in the dash where the factory Navigation would go. I had a DVD player put in the upper glove box. I am very happy with it. I got the headrest dvd players from www.mp3playerstore.com. The set up will let me watch the same dvd on all 3 screens, a seperate dvd on all three screens. The back seat can also listen to there dvd's with the IR headsets that come with the headrest while the frontseat passengers listen through the AUX input. I had the front dvd plyer and screen wire to the AUX input in the back where you attach an IPOD. It sounds 10X better than when an IPOD is attached. Check out my pictures
