2000 LR Disco 4.0.
My question is, if I install a cdl what do I do about the braking system.
I saw somewhere that there is a way to disable these systems at the brain by
some sort of mod that while the vehicle is off, you push and hold a button you start the vehicle and depress the switch and all of those systems are now off line but I can't seem to find that anywhere. Anyone know?

Instead of that mod whatever it is, can't I just pull a fuse or something simple like that?
Thanks, Joe

I would leave them intake... This way you will have CDL and the brakes will assist in keeping wheel spin down, so you will go where no rover should go.... remember all the mods in the world will just get you a lot farther before you get stuck...

That is exactly what I am looking to do.:stupid:
I want this mod for the "tread lightly":creep: aspect.
Joey, I noticed in your sig that you have your abs fuze pulled ???
Keeping the braking system in tact with cdl wouldn't that put unwanted stress on the rest of the drive line? Also if you were to disable the system wouldn't that allow all 4 tires to spin (like a locker) or will that just keep the diffs open? Joe

IMHO-- a locked CDL with traction control puts less stress on the drivetrain. You have more traction. The more traction, the less wheel slip and less chance of a shock load twisting the axles and CVs. All traction control does is limit wheel spin, it does not lock up the drivetrain. With an open CDL, traction control has to limit wheel spin left-to-right and front-to-back; with the CDL locked, all it has to do is limit wheel spin left-to-right. I noticed a huge improvement locking the CDL on my truck, versus traction contol alone.

Well thank you DS, I was thinking that everything goes through the brain and that with TC off it would think that the wheel was slipping and engage both on the front and repeat with the rear. So in turn, less slippage all around and "Tread Lightly" is more so and less stress all around, trail and vehicle. Thank you for clearing that up. Joe
