Iginition "Thump"??

When I turn the ignition on, there is a distinct "Thump", or bump sound coming from behind the dash....drivers side.....I didn't hear this in my D11.....any ideas?

Are you talking a thump like the starter is loose and the bendix is not hitting the flywheel right and or the starter is torquing on it's mounts???

No Mike, it's like a very muted electrical, or small thump INSIDE the dash, behind the guages somewhere. it occurs just after I get power to the ignition, not when engaging the starter. It's wierd, it sounds kinda-like someone taps once very lightly behind the speedo area. It only does it once, then I proceed to start... Ideas?????

How about the ABS system doing a self test, it will give a real muted thump?

That's probably it....it sounds like a pressure switch, or a fuel pump loading-up. I'll keep my eyes on it and wait to see if anyone else notices the same noise....Thanks for your input.
