100% agreeI have a strong feeling I would end up with a Wrangler Unlimited or Tacoma if I was buying new at this point

...Anyone folded the seats flat in one to see if there is room to stretch out and sleep? Especially with a fridge in the middle of the second row. That is one of my very favorite features of the 4 and 3 over the Wrangler that I also own.
Glad you like yours, just not the car for me.
What are the largest tires anyone has been able to fit to one thus far?
Copy. One thing I'd like to say is that I regard all Land Rover vehicle drivers (regardless of model or year) as friends and fellow travelers whom I would be happy to invite to my house for dinner. I like being different and driving a niche vehicle, especially one made in a country I love and lived in while in the Air Force flying the jet in my avatar (uncropped picture attached).
WRT maximum tire size, My observation is that the 285/50-20s that I've installed on my D5 are the largest that will fit without Johnson Rods being installed. I considered LT285/55-20s and clearance would have been no problem in the rear, but they would've contacted the vents at the rear of my front wheel well when turning.

I'll be keeping my 4 until the wheels fall off, and then I'll likely just replace the bearings and drive on.

^ In reply to the quote above^ Not sure how this got separated into 2 posts - sorry.
I'm keeping our 2 LR4's as long as possible but needed to add something with modern safety features to the family motor pool as our twin daughters start driving next month. Alltrack drives great and was my first choice but not enough back seat leg room for our tall family. Tiguan was nice but engine is too sluggish. Subarus feel like tin cans and CVT sucks. Almost bought a CR-V then I saw the Passport and now a Passport is in our garage.
"Modern safety features" like what?
Blind spot monitoring, automatic forward braking, rear detection and automatic rear braking, lane keep assist and road departure mitigation. Technology my LR4 lacks that may help prevent a new driver from getting into an accident.
