It doesn't; be patient for another three years when styling does a "refresh". They can sort the front end, replace the minicar image and give it a grownup look.
As to the rear, styling can put visible taillights back there and when the 130 comes out, put the spare underneath. Currently, even the 110 is just too short.
The side view looks OK, but the good news is the value of our 3's and 4's will start rising. People aspiring to a LR will realize they are interior wise, bigger, and re the engine, well a V8 beats a straight 4 or 6.
I recall back in the eighties, Chev had a 292 (4.8L) straight six - something LR might want to consider if the current six goes the way most LR engines do. Why LR does not stick with the 4.4L petrol V8 for NAS vehicles is something I have yet to understand. I am certain Ford could be convinced to keep building it.
I guess there is hope; in the meantime, I will continue to enjoy my 3.
