Land Rover LSE 1997 or 1998

Hello,
This is more of a historical question than technical. I have a 1997 Land Rover LSE. The documentation seems to indicate that the LR was manufactured in November of 1997. The title also dates it as a 1997 model. All of the literature and parts info seem to indicate that the LSE model was first introduced as a 1998 model. Does anyone have any inside info on this? Thanks.

98 production vehicles from Rover were in assembly starting around end of July, 1st of August.

Thanks Mike but your response does not address my question. Why is the LSE designated a 1998 model year when the title indicates that it is a 1997 model year. I completely understand about production and assembly time frames. i.e. I have seen, say 2012 model year vehicles built and sold in 2011 but they are designated and titled as 2012 models. My LR seems to, not , conform to that standard. Thanks.

@1997LRLSE: As usual, Disco Mike is on top of things and sharp as a water balloon. Land Rover changed over from the DI to the DII model in mid-year in the 1998 production run. As a result, both can be considered a 1998 model.

Thanks Don, I suspected as much with the model year issue. Land Rover Scottsdale was not very helpful with historical information either.

I think a good slogan or mantra to keep in mind is that "Some know alot about a little bit and some know a little bit about alot, but no one knows everything". When people portray themselves as the all seeing all knowing, they just come across as completely arrogant.
