Is this possible without having to replace the part?

As others have read, the SRS red light comes on the dash when the pretensioner wire frays. So I've read. It seems like a design flaw but it happened after I bought the car. I think with my wife and I changing the seating position, I noticed it would come on intermittently and then just stayed on. Thought it was the clock spring, but replaced it and no change. I was getting a fault code for it, but, after finding water in the passenger side floor and a yellow with green wire that was corroded and separated at a connection, teh fault code went away, but the red SRS light remains. looking at the part, and reading on it. it sounds like it could be a frayed wire or bad connection. Is this a repairable part?

Thanks

I have never had to mess with the SRS but after reading on it, I would replace rather than repair. I attached the service manual section for the SRS, hope that is helpful to you. I would appreciate it if you could let us know the results.

I did remove the clock spring which was surprisingly easy, if not intimidating. The scary part was forcing the bag back in. It took some good pushing to get it to click back in place. Was frightened I'd set it off.
