5. Flux capacitor

A TDI option in the US would be nice, if they can make it 50 state legal.

I'll take the Audi 4.2 V8 from the Q7 we just traded in for our LR3. Quiet when driven nicely but when pushed it has a great growl and loves to rev to the redline. Funny, I just noticed that the Q7 and LR3 use the same ZF HP26 transmission.

turbodiesel (torque, mileage, reliability), supercharger. more power. already have horrible gas mileage so what difference would it make. can see it happening as more US vehicles become diesel and hybrid. then the upgrades to the air system and computer would actually be worth it.

other luxuries/comforts:
1. back up camera
2. satellite video capable (soon from siruis/xm)
3. more off road packages:
-selectable locking diffs
-onboard tool stowage (shovel, strap, sand tread)
-upgraded onboard air ports, internal air taps for emergency suspension filling
4. auxilary video hookups

that should do it for now...

There has been a similar thread to this one before:

http://forums.landroverworld.org/showthread.php?t=1165&highlight=touareg

But I'll list up my items again:

Keyless Go/Start (option at least)
Instant fuel economy in trip computer
TPMS standard
Selectable suspension settings (comfort, sport, etc) - ala Touareg, GX470
Lower suspension automatically when put in park (user selectable)
Altitude available in on road mode on nav
Reclinable rear seats

And things I wouldn't change:

Exterior/interior styling (although they could make it a little more luxurious)
Transmission
V8 engine
Air suspension
Sunroofs (multiple ones)
Great third row
Great interior volume
Great ride
Great offroad ability
Terrain Response System
Key fob
Electronic Parking Break
Excellent Nav system
Easy to change air filters (if you've owned a V8 Touareg you'll know what I mean )
Excellent Xenon headlights
Nice heated windshield
Available rear heated seats

-Rich

Edit:

One addtional improvements:

Greater than 4 digits for the altitude read out on the Nav

Reclinable rear seats

thats one i forgot. i remember when my buddy bought his '95 4runner and it had reclinable rear seats. that should be an industry standard these days. although i am very happy with how many positions the rear seats move.

Sell it with some decent tires! Just put the Michelins on there and dump the Good-for-one-years.

I have a 2005, so some of this may be in newer models already. . .

1) Decent tires are a must. Michelins should be standard, or something similar. Goodyears have been disasters since day 1.
2) Diesel Model would be sick.
3) One-Push window buttons would be nice on all windows (not sure if this is on current models)
4) Rear seat heaters are a plus.
5) Plastics on the underbelly need to be replaced with something more durable.
6) A modestly nicer interior would be good. I like the utilitarian thing, but the plastic is a bit much.
7) Anyone ever need a bit more gas in the tank for those places without a 7-11 nearby? A 30 gallon tank would be nice.
8) HID Foglights
9) WIndows that don't leak should be thought of.
10) Standard full-size spares. The Krispy Kreme strapped to the tail is useless.
11) A better jack.

Interesting thread with some great suggestions.

jp - I have a 2005 HSE and it has the (optional) heated rear seats. Or were you referring to 3rd row heated seats?
