Looking for a recommendation on Moab trails. I will have my bike rack connected via hitch, so not looking for any serious crawling. Just some fun scenic trails. Any thoughts?

I haven't been there yet. Planning on a trip in September. But since no one has responded I have checked out a number of websites and books as I prepare for our trip.

Here are a couple of websites:
http://www.discovermoab.com/fourwheel.htm
http://cruisemoab.com/trail-rating-system.asp (this one lists some of the trails according to their difficulty.

And there are a couple of books I am using. One is the book by Funtreks. They have a website as well: http://www.funtreks.com/index.php?o...ductdetails&virtuemart_product_id=6&Itemid=32

And here is a short youtube vid on Chicken Corners. Chuck Wells at Chicken Corners Utah - YouTube
There are a bunch of youtube videos on some of the more difficult trails in the areas. A search will easily find them. There are a few with LR3s or LR4s.

I plan to use a guide for 1 or 2 days as this will be our first trip.

And if you are into photography I like the books "Photographing the Southwest". There are 3, one of which is Utah or Southern Utah or something like that. I've used the one for Arizona and it is useful. These books are not primarily geared towards offloading but a few of the places they take you to will require 4WD or at least a high clearance vehicle.

You may find this blog by our good friend Nathan Woods to be quite useful, as it includes fairly detailed description of most 4x4 trails in and around Moab, including which ones are most scenic, easy and doable with a stock setup, and which are more challenging. Sulihull Society often holds its yearly National Rally there (they are planning it in Moab again this year, September 16-20):

Thanks for the heads up on the Sulihull Society, umberto! I may try to see if I can join them as that would be the time I will be there with my Dad.

Also, just read Nathan's blog and it is great! So much of the material on Moab is geared towards Jeeps. It is nice to hear someone address the trail difficult from the perspective of an LRx. (A "modern" Rover.)

Thanks for the thoughts. I've decided to defer on the Moab trip. After doing some research I've been told repeatedly that July is not the time to go.
