Hi,

Can someone shine a little light on this one for me?

When my '82 diesel gets upto about a constant 40+mph, the engine begins to make a 'jack-hammer' type of sound. Put the clutch in and let the revs drop and it goes away. Re-engange the clutch and the noise slowly comes back again. Below 40mph and there is no noise.

Also, at idle I get a really loud ticking noise. As you get going this goes away but comes back when you return to idle.

Cheers. Thanks for any help.
