New member with a '94 RRC

Hi there,
Changed from Rover P6 to '94 Range Rover Classic last month. Very nice car in glossy Beluga Black Voque SE SWB softdash. Just a few problems with the anti-theft system (misterious behaviour) and key fob (range about 2 ft). Also installed an original 3d row rear facing seat - so it's a seven seater now.

Welcome to the forum.... have you tried changing the battery in the key fob? If that doesn't do it, I would recommend taken it apart and cleaning with some contact cleaner.

Changed the battery - will take it apart and clean it with wd40. Hope it will extend the range. What is the location of the receiver/antenna in the car?

Please don't use WD40... buy some contact cleaner...

Its the single knob version. Took the thing apart and cleaned the battery connections. There is a micro switch on the circuit board. It's possible to open the swtich, the contacts inside were corroded. Works fine now and with a much improved range.
