Power steering fluid in a 2001 Discovery 2

I am getting ready to change my power steering fluid in my 2001 Discovery 2. Is there any alternative to the Land Rover fluid which is a fortune and the dealer far away? I had heard Valvoline synthetic was ok but I cant find any anywhere.I have a lot of Mercedes Benz synthetic that I use in my Mercedes' ;would that be ok?

Oddly enough Power Steering fluid is just that... nothing fancy... in the D1's it was Transmission fluid in the power steering.... I am pretty sure they switched that back to just power steering fluid on the D2's.

If you can find a synthetic p/s fluid buy it, never use ATF in a D2.
