Rear door frame rust - driver/passenger sides

I would be very nervous about what that bottom trim piece hides underneath it.
I did remove the bottom trim and found more rust. Sanded it down and covered it over as best I could with a rust paint called POR-15...it should buy me some time. I could have reduced the rust if I cleaned the trim out occasionally.

Good call. My 2010 underside looks worse (the big skid plate is looking nasty) but my doors look ok.

That is the one spot that tends to rust first on these. Good to pull those panels, side steps, sliders, whatever and clean them and treat for rust.

Stay ahead of it. :D
