Any advice on a roof module (storage box) that fits the LR3 Roof Rails? There is a picture of a silver one on the Land Rover Accessories website, but none exists from LR!

Both Thule and Yakima make attachments that fit on the roof rails. You then just need to get the cargo box for the top. Check out their websites

The new Yakima boxes fit without mods or attachments. The old boxes would not work because of the wide cross section of the bars.

Are you saying that the boxes attach directly to the roof rails?

They mount directly to the LR3 cross bars. I assume you have the LR3 crossbars mounted to the "tracks" on the roof. If you haven't purchased the LR3 crossbars, you can buy Yakima crossbars, landing pads, and towers to get to the same point.

I don't use my LR3 factory crossbars anymore. Yakima setup is stronger, more flexible, wider, and snaps on and off in seconds.

Anybody want my LR3 crossbars?

Hi all,

I just received my factory crossbars and a yakima blacktop pro 16 cargo box. I haven't installed it on the roof rails yet. I was wondering if anyone with the same setup, have problems with clearing the garage doors or parking structures?

That's an odd question... It depends on the clearance of your garage door and the parking structures you frequent.

No way any roof box can go into my garage... or most parking structures... even in Access height. Measure and heed the signage.

I recently got all set up with Yakima gear for the LR3. I got the four landing pads, control towers, and a Pro 18 cargo box. There is no way the cargo box
would fit into most if not all standard residential garages. I will also want to carry a canoe, and will need to get longer crossbars than the 48" Yak crossbars I already had.

What is the widest Yak crossbar that I can legally put on the LR3? It is 75" wide at the body, and 86" at the mirrors. I seem to recall that I can only have the bars as wide as the body. Can someone confirm this? Yak makes the 78" wide bars, but I want to stay 100% legal.

(I also got the Full Swing 4 bike hitch carrier. Any suggestions on loading two kids 16" bikes?)

The width of the bars would be regulated by the state. Maybe google it for your state?

I purchased the Rover Accesories roof rack in black for my recent trip to Moab. I used it to transport my spare tire on top with the roof rack. All in all the rack performed well.

Attached are pictures of my rack along with the Everthing hitch carrier/platform that I used on the trip:
