Hey All,

This is my way of sharing some information to the rest on how to install the LR3 Trailer Electrics.

Took me about 45 Minutes including picture documentation.

I don't claim I did it right and you should have a professional do it if you're not sure.

But really it's super easy, and you should save yourself some time and money by doing this yourself.

About me: I'm not a mechanic, and I have little experience w/ installing equipment on vehicles, and I love my LR3.

About my LR3: 2005 MY HSE w/ every option but cooler box and Bluetooth ( the two I wish I had..) It came w/ the towing and HD package but oddly no towing electrics

My method is exactly what Land Rover has on their website on how to install the Trailer electrics kit. find it HERE

dig around and download the .pdf file and print it out.. mine came w/ the illustrated guide but it's worth looking ahead.

There are more than 30 pictures Pictures and I will do the best to describe each, but they the mirror the images in the LR3 electrics install guide.

This is what you need.. missing and wrench: I realized that I needed a wrench to install the grounding wire and you should have one too

Chock and Tire tools located in right side cubby behind the right rear tire

On Left side, behind rear tire well is where the tow hitch and access to the pre-wired tow electronics connectors are located

Find the free connector ends up inside the left rear cubby and connect them to the wires you just routed from the rear tail lamp area to the inside of the truck

Lower the spare tire with the crank from the tire change kit and route the cables along the bumper. make sure you push the plastic grommets in place to "lock" the cables in place along the metal bumper. Feed the connectors up to the rear left headlamp assembly area and connect to the couplers that you just routed from inside the body of the LR3.
