Ok, understand now thanks.

Initially I thought the process was cutting the wire from the connector and wiring it straight into the trailer wiring, not splicing the trailer wires into the harness. To make matters worse, the discoweb link above didn't work despite a dozen tries using different methods so no pictures that might have prevented this. Stupid mistake that cost us a day of our vacation, $50 for a used harness, and a whooooole lot of swearing.

This is what I did. I see no reason it won't work on any model disco, provided you verify the wire colours (they may be different on different years).

I just cut off the little round factory connector on the trailer harness, knowing I'd never need it once I wired the trailer. I did leave a couple of inches of wire on the end I cut off in case I ever lost my mind and wanted to reattach it.
