A few days ago my Speedo started dancing around, and now it dosn't work most of the time and when it does it still dances around. Do I need to replace the VSS?

Yes I would say the VSS has gone bad, or the connection to the VSS.

Might want to have your alternator checked, either they can cause this problem when failing or one of the wires on the back of the alternator can come loose causing the same problem.

The VSS doesn't drive the tach., the alternator does.

Mike, unless I read wrong, he was saying his speed "O", not the tach was the issue.

I am going to get under there this weekend and see if it is just the plug. If it is notthe plug, would it even be a good to look at a used VSS or should I just buy a new one?

New one... used will give you the same issues in no time at all.
