What is your average MPG?

This a very frustrating....
I kept remembering the window sticker stating that the LR3 is 14/18 MPG.
Can anyone explain to me then how come my last trip to Boston from Northern NJ (250mi) averaged 13.8mpg? I brought the car in for quite a few times, and they told me that there was nothing wrong.
