Update: After driving the vehicle around 60ish miles, the Check engine light just went out. The car was running great the whole time, but the light was on... very disturbing. Good thoughts here.. I live in a rural area. Drive to dealership is about 150 miles.. so I will probably run it for a while with fuel cleaner and eventually try to get to the dealership if it doesn’t clear. Battery I believe is in good shape, but that was another good thought, and I will watch...- AZRoverLR4wm

Hah! What’s that, put electrical tape over the light? Seriously, if I put fuel system cleaner in the gas and just drove it with the light on, any issues with doing that? Is that a smart/ accepted practice?- AZRoverLR4wm

My understanding is that the gap tool is the best diagnostic tool available. I wonder how much better the LR dealers tool is. Gap says no fault but the Check Engine light is on. Frustrating. Yes, the check engine light is actually on full-time. Not a lot of coolant spilled on any connectors if any.. After everything was put back together it actually ran OK for a while before the check engine light came on. So it actually did work for a little bit before the check engine light came...- AZRoverLR4wm

I have cleaned the MAF Sensors. Cleared faults with the Gap tool. Re-ran current faults and that is what is shown in the picture. Do I need to do something in addition? Is there a special process to clear a check engine light?- AZRoverLR4wm

Car disassembled again. Going for the correct thermostat. Too much work put into this so doing the job right. Just a FYI for the group: The 2014 LR4 uses a different thermostat than the 2015 and 2016. Update- Just spoke to the Land Rover dealer. They confirmed it is the wrong thermostat. They say the correct thermostat should be a LR035124. They say not to use it (of course the dealer will take the politically correct route for limited liability..) Now the question is do I just go with it or...- AZRoverLR4wm

So to clarify. The one I installed was the one with the wire. Should I just cap and stow the wire and leave it in place? The “wrong” thermostat will work in the vehicle without any issues? Thank you for your reply!- AZRoverLR4wm
