    95 Disco I ABS light

My daughter has a 95 RR that has a constant ABS warning light on. Two shops have tested the ABS brakes and say nothing wrong with the ABS and that it is a fault in the dash light . I know the light is a 'warning ' light but when the fault is the light itself what do you do from there?:)

    coolant for Disco 1

Good point about age of the vehicle and what rover now recommends. But I never implied I didn't want to use WaterWetter rather I was trying to gather what others thought about it from their experiences. And I still wonder what you think from a dealership point of view when it is ok to deviate...

    coolant for Disco 1

And Mike you bring up a good point,ie, we all do lots of things to our Rovers that Land Rover Ltd does not recommend. Modifications are pervasive in this community of car owners on the forums. For instance Rover would not recommend trashing the air/shock system on my 95 P38 but both me and the...

    coolant for Disco 1

I would add the "Water Wetter' product just to help keep the engine cooler. I agree that just 50/50 coolant mixture will be enough for freeze protection . I am for anything that will help the engine run just a little cooler especially with the triple digit temps we are having the last few...

    coolant for Disco 1

I had seen a lot of folks using Dexicool and read where that product was better for aluminum. I had also read several places here about the water wetter so I just asked to see what others had to say. I have been using Prestone already but not the water wetter (which is also not recommended by...

    pdf shop manuals

I did that Mike for the Discovery manual but I didn't see a download for a Range Rover P38 in the link on your signature. The other link I listed above seemed to have all manuals and they are also free. Mike

    pdf shop manuals

Sorry if this has already been posted but I was looking for downloadable shop manuals and came accross this: http://www.landroverweb.com/landrover/pdf-land-rover-manuals/ Very easy to use and fast. Just thought somebody else might be interested. Mike

    Sometimes won't start

Could be a loose ignition wire somewhere or a little water in the gas? If it gets by the rough spot and runs wonderfully I wouldn't think a tune up would have a lot to do with it. Something loose could perform flawlessly for a while then get bumped a little to mess with thre connection and...

    1997 LR LSE Overheating

I read in another thread here that one guy was testing his fan clutch by taking a plastic bottle and trying to stop the fan when the car is at operating temperature. You should not be able to stop the fan that way. He also said put on a pair of gloves and just try to grab the fan but I am a...

    Radio repair?

It works:) This forum saved me some money. After what was said here and researching other related threads I tried entering the code three times and no worky. I then left the power and radio on for about an hour and a half, came back turned the radio off then right back on, entered the code...

    coolant for Disco 1

I have seen some older threads recommending Dex Cool coolant for Land Rovers. I have also seen several mentions of using a product called 'Water Wetter' as a coolant additive. The Dex Cool product says it already has temp extreme inhibitors in it. Any problem in mixing these two products...

    Extremely general questions (Newbie here)

Well I can add a little here as I am in exactly this kid's position from the Father's point of view. And I own/have owned a few Jeeps. The Jeep Cherokees utilize the 'unibody' construction which is absolutely the worst decision Jeep made in the last 35 years or so. Jeep has it's own series...
