    bragging !

Hey "hickersb", yes, the brake light switch malfunction causes a number of problems such as warnings about the cruise control not available, emergency brake not available, suspension adjustment not available (truck drops to lowest ride hight), drive modes not available, and perhaps others...

    bragging !

It's been a long while since I posted anything, so here it goes. Contrary to most postings, I want to brag on my 2016 LR4 HSE Luxe with 63,000 miles. The only problems this vehicle has caused me, is a $30 brake light switch, and some front rotors. That's it. This Land Rover, and my previous 2005...

    Wet cabin air filter

Have had the same problem. Replaced the cowl but a month later it leaked again. Now I run black electrical tape along the cowl/windshield interface above the air box intake (pass. side) - problem solved! replace tape about every few months or if it starts to curl. Cheap fix!

    Transmission Flush opinions

Took my 2016 LR4 to the local dealer for a 60K ****** service, wanting a "full service", but was told that it would cost about $ 1800.00 so I opted for just a "drain & refill" for $ 671.00. Holy crap! Did my transfer case, front & rear diff, and power steering fluids as well for a total of...

What did you do with your Lr4 Today?

With 2 weeks of below freezing cold temperatures (as far as -15 F) and 9 inches of snow, I decided to take the LR4 for a spin and "plow" some snow to see how it would do. Was worried about the "Beast" not starting at 0 F after sitting a week, outside, but no worries. Started after about 2...

    Maximum elevation

I've been told you can put the truck in park, raise it to full height, then put your foot on the brake and hit the "raise supension" button for 30 seconds and it'll lift? Haven't tried that yet, but who knows?

    Still apprehensive

Those are great responses "manoftaste" and "ryanjl" and I appreciate your observations and feel the same. I've had nine Toyota's and eleven different Mercedes' and none have been any more reliable or dependable than my LR's but they haven't produced the almost PTSD that LR has. And, I'm sorry...

    Still apprehensive

After owning a 90's Discovery which was the biggest POS ever, even after owning a nearly perfect Series II Disco, an LR3, and now a 16 LR4, all of which have been great, I'm still apprehensive and nervous anytime I get in the LR4 to go somewhere thinking and expecting the worst. Am I just...

Extended Warranty price $4,000. First repair $1795. 3 years to go

ktm525 it seems like a "fraudulent" claim, but the shop foreman drove my vehicle before doing any "warranty work" and said that my rotors were warped and my lower control arms had a knock even though I hadn't really noticed it myself. But if they said so, fine by me.

Extended Warranty price $4,000. First repair $1795. 3 years to go

Just before my LR4 went off factory warranty I went to my dealer and asked the service manager (who I've known for 20 years) for advice on "what's going to go wrong soon"! He told me he would replace my lower control arms and front rotors under factory warranty if I complained about a "problem"...

    Reliability

Even though we're supposed to be in lock-down at home, I've driven somewhere almost daily but NOT where there are people! I go eagle watching and just driving down "I wonder where that road goes" roads and even though I keep waiting for the LR4 to go to s..t, it's been running flawlessly for the...

    Reliability

After 4 years and 46,000 miles I'm still extremely happy with the reliability of my 2016 LR4 HSE LUX. I've had to replace the brake switch because it was giving malfunctions, but that's about it. A cheap fix! My previous LR3 and Discovery II were just as reliable and a joy to drive. I know there...

    Hard Choices

ktm525 you are so right. I've had four LR's since the 90's, currently driving a '16 LR4, and only one was a POS but it made me paranoid. My last three Rovers have been very good, reliable, and dependable but I'm still on "edge" every time I get in the LR4 to go somewhere. Is it gonna screw me...

    Water in Passenger Footwell

My new windshield cowling also let water to leak into my pass. footwell through the cabin air filter so I took a strip of black electrical tape and ran it along the area above the air intake taping the plastic cowling to the windshield. That "fix" so far has worked for a year without the tape...
